Another thread-legged bug (Empicoris sp.)! These are diminutive assassin bugs in the family Reduviidae that are specialized predators of spiders. Colorado Springs, Colorado, June 29.

Here is a bug bite I received several weeks ago. I actually had three of these size and four other smaller ones.
Can you believe I got these in the span of (at max) 20 seconds? All I did was walk from the front door to my car. Once I got in my car I started itching like crazy and I had thought I was having some sort of allergic reaction... but nope... bug bites. Eew. I have no clue why bugs love me.

This Sea Holly plant is an interesting form and color but it stinks! It must be a smell that bugs like because it is definitely an insect magnet...
