I was SO blessed to have been chosen to have the Bucket Brigade paint my entire house for free! The paint was donated by Sherwin-Williams and the labor was done by the Methodist Church. My house looks awesome and I am so thankful for the help!

When the bucket trucks rolled down Banks Street on the morning of our fourth day without power, our spirits were uplifted. We were sure we'd get power soon.

 

And sure enough, that night, we did.

The bucket was the creative doing of a vet-aid who couldn't find an e-collar big enough for Mongo. He drilled holes in it so that I could lash it to his collar. The bucket was just big enough that when Mongo put his head over his food dish it would "thwump" right over it to the ground.

It's the middle of the night. There are no lights on in the whole neighborhood. It is really nice to see the red blinking lights of the power utility's bucket truck across the street.

These guys were drumming in the streets of Washington, DC. The couple on the right were just passing by, and stopped to enjoy. They started dancing and getting down, almost looking like a part of the show.
