I love the way the little girl is looking at the water, the father patting the sand down to make the sandcastle and the mum is rinsing out the bucket even the dod is watching.
my bestie landra took this photo....i guess i shouldn't just take credit for it. heh. dope though huh?
I used a really inexpensive outdoor fabric, and loved that it was so neutral; great for toys for the kids, or for mama's sewing stuff.
Some of my cheapo outdated 35mm colour film squeezed into a Coronet 44, then processed at home with B&W chemicals.
The Minnesota State Fair ends today. We spent 6 hours walking around the Fairgrounds last Friday. This is a shot of Princess Jessica Oelfke in butter. I liked this sculpture because of the texture and curls of the hair. You can also see butter pieces on the Butter Booth floor near the yellow bucket used to collect leftover remnants.
In the Fair food department, our friends really liked the Peach Glazed Pig Cheeks on-a-stick. But we found them a little gamey. Though they were extremely tender, they were more like dark meat than the white meat pork I tend to eat. The peach glaze was fantastic.
Princess Kay of the Milky Way and all 12 Butter Queens will be completed after today. The Minnesota State Fair has a long tradition of butter carving. It fascinates me to watch artist Linda Christensen carve her sculptures in butter each year. I lovingly call them "Butter Queens." By Fair's end, Linda will have carved one Queen for each day of the Fair, the first being a likeness of Princess Kay 2009.

I came in the door from work today and Max said, "Dad, Brian's being a robot!" Then, Brian came up the stairs with the bucket on his head saying, "Beep, beep."
I had to get the camera.
For the Half-Time Show, foolish/brave fans were ask to come out on the track and hold their arms out for as long as possible while their buckets were slowly filled with more and more cans of beer. Last one standing wins the beer in their buckets.

Here in Australia the bucket hat is a part of summer just as fish and chips on the beach, seagulls and thongs. This is my take on the traditional bucket hat.
This is something new. I found high five trophies from oriental trading (12 for $10). Each week I will give a high five trophy away to a student who deserves a high five. Their name will be in the newsletter, on the website, and displayed here on our bucket fillers bulletin board.
