Bucket of KOMATSU PC3000

Metal buckets from the children's gardening section in Sainsbury's - planted with Lobelia. I decided larger pots hung individually worked better than the tiny tin-pot mobile I used to have.

At some point Laurie will get too big for our B&Q bucket.

Today, it’s all about the magnificent giant tortoise. Touring the Charles Darwin Research Station, you’ll witness the exceptional conservation program where baby tortoises, “galapaguitos,” are reared in protective captivity until they are old enough to safely repatriate back to their native areas. Embrace Galápagos conservation by learning about threats that still endanger this fragile ecosystem. After a lingering poolside lunch at the Finch Bay Eco Hotel (bring your swimsuit just in case), explore the misty, forested highlands and see the lumbering and charming tortoises in their natural habitat. You’ll also have a chance to walk inside the island’s famed lava tubes for a geological exploration of these remarkable volcanic channels.

Bucket truck.... flagging the wires at a construction site

It would seem that some child either forgot or abandoned their blue bucket at the water's edge after a full days digging (based on how many pits, trenches, and holes there were scattered across this part of the beach). I thought the rich, bright blue of the bucket made for a good contrast against the blue-gray skies and ocean.

This bucket slowly fills with maple sap. North of Watsons Corners, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.

This is a fun, competiton. The idea is to fill the 55 gallon barrel with the orange buckets. But all the buckets have holes in the bottom and the 55 gallon drum they are filling has holes in the sides of it. It's water everywhere!

Bucket is another one of the lovely cats at the rescue centre where I volunteer. Yes, that really is her name and no, I have no idea why! She's a little bit nervous, but very sweet and affectionate. She came in to the centre because she's frightened of dogs and two large dogs had moved in next door. Her nervous reaction was to urinate around the house. Such a shame. She's absolutely fine at the centre. I'm hoping to find that someone has fallen in love with her this week when I go to the centre this afternoon.

Day 191/365: Bucket List

On my bucket list, from the time I was young, was the opportunity to see The Oak Ridge Boys live in concert. Meeting them was an added bonus, and I have always really loved William Lee Golden, so I could be a happy girl just meeting him. A while back, the ORB's retired and I thought there goes my chance. I was so disappointed. Being able to see them last night at the Northern Wisconsin State Fair was a dream come true, but even more amazing was the fact that I was able to meet William Lee Golden in person, get a hug, and go in the official ORB tour bus. I was born in April of 1982, and in February of '82 the song "Bobbie Sue" was released and became an instant hit. My mom already had a name picked out, she was going to name me "Kristy Nicole," I could have the spelling or variation wrong, she will likely correct me if I do. Anyway, my grandma put a bug in my parents' ear and said they should name me Bobbie Sue. To add more dimension to the story, my dad's name is Bob, my mom's name is Sue...yes, no joke. So thanks to the Oak Ridge Boys & Grandma, I have a name that is also a legacy and bonds me to my parents even closer. I count it as a gift, just like last night was.
