Just playing around in the house.

A very lucky capture of a bubble floating in the wind at a local park.

I love bubble shots and now is the perfect time of year to get some. Hope you enjoy and have a happy weekend! :)

Gaudi Park - Barcelona. Picture of bubbles made by a childrens entertainer in Goudi park on a sunny day. I loves the way the light catches the water and also the way the picture capture the bubbles bursting

Ice in a mug.

Over the Christmas period we had a few days of hard frost. On one occasion I ventured out, far from the crackling log fire and a warm infusion of calming tea…

And found this ice in an old china mug sitting in the garden. I loved the cracks and the bubbles and thought they would make an interesting macro. Maybe. If you are already interested in that sort of thing, or space, or vague wispy things with bubbles :)

So back by the roaring flames (and the tea) I played about with the image on the iPad.

Now the real question: where do the bubbles come from? Is it air being knocked out of solution by the reducing temperature... or, as I like to think, is it oxygen being produced by the algae in the water (the mug's been around for a while).

Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image! Happy Macro Wednesday :)

I love using my Voigtlander 25mm on close ups. Apparently bubble on the side of a beer glass indicate that it is dirty.. only found this out after I drank the beer. Well I guess we drink and learn.

Playing with bubbles during the deep freeze! Taken in the early morning inside our 3 season sunroom. The background is frost on the window.

This was an alternate shot for last week's Macro Monday theme: in a bottle.

I liked both shots and I especially like the bright background of this one.

For Macro Mondays' "Bubbles" theme. This is a blue glass pitcher with lots of little bubbles in the glass. The out of focus blobs are highlights from the other side of the pitcher. Lighting is done mostly with an Ikea reading light coming in from the top. Background behind the pitcher was black board. The area covered is probably less than an inch across.

The sun's out today. Haven't seen the sun in ages. I loved just standing outside and absorbing the rays, but then got jumpy and had to blow some bubbles.

I love the dark background here. It's the shaded corner of the building (an old lunatic asylum). That little bubble inside is doing strange things to the larger reflection - see all the scattering flecks inside!

It's a sweet and sensual experience to blow a bubble inside a bubble. You just pucker your lips and pop a bit of air through the surface. Amazing that it's so simple. Amazing that it's even possible. It's fun too. If the bubble surface is too thin, it just pops. POP!

I'll be a bit cryptic here, but this technique has given me ideas for something very beautiful. I'll need help with it (not saying what yet!), but if I can get it to work it's going to be better than anything I've done with bubbles before........

SE Alaska, 8 Humpback whales bubble net feeding. After they dive you never know exactly where to point the camera despite them producing a bubble net, often they were much further away than expected on surfacing.

on the creek.

Apparently the water surface tension causes a flattening pancake effect of the bubble shape as ice forms and traps a little bit of the bubble layer by layer...

an explanation by my friend the Geologist.

I know this area has multiple tiny springs in which bubbles come to the surface nearly all year 'round.

My grandmother would have found that to be significant for some reason or another...I think it's just because I just re-filled my cup.

The perfect combination!

Such a great afternoon we had yesterday!

Capturing an irredescent bubble in a glass.

I noticed the bubble left in the glass as I was washing up and placed a black card behind it to capture the image.

Bubbled Blue Eye.

Last time I tried a flying veil with Robert. This time I tried some flying bubbles. Again, because I don't have an assistant, I need to set the camera on timer and blow the bubbles myself. A few soup bubbles flew into Robert's eyes while shooting. Thanks for his patience, and sacrifice!

These bubbles were really hard to get.

As soon as the the wave deposited its treasure of bubbles onto beach and returned to the sea, I would rush over to the foamy edge, not unlike a sandpiper, locate a good sized bunch of bubbles, aim and focus the camera only to have the bubbles dissolve into the sand before my eyes.

But, I was very determined and stuck with it and finely got these bubbles from the sea.

Captured Monday evening at sunset at the Delaware State Seashore State Park with iPhone edited on the iPad in Snapseed.

Only used the macro focus setting in the app for this one. The bubbles would just not last long enough for me to focus on them using the Olloclip.

Still traveling, I will add/fix any tags I missed etc. when I return.

Continueing for bubbles series.

Just playing around with soap bubbles and light.

Mozzy is very afraid of the bubbles. He knows they live in a little bottle and sometimes they break free. He always runs for the door to go inside when he sees them.
