Happiness is like rising bubbles -- delightful and inevitably fleeting. Joy is the oxygen -- ever present.

Seen out of a train window between cities in Belgium last spring...at the time, life was relatively easy for me. I was on my way to celebrate Kattenstoet in Ypres/Ieper and hadn't learned about my dad's Cancer diagnosis yet (My mom told me when I landed). I wasn't even fearing another Trump presidency. There's always war and humans I worry about all over the world (and animals too) but relative to now, I was in a peaceful and happy state of mind.
Politics doesn't often come up at work when I am with students unless they bring it up for my older more aware students. I feel like most of the time, us adults are trying hard to keep our extreme anxiety and depression showing to kids. Kids are seen as vulnerable overall despite the mantra after Covid that they were "resilient."
But, I wonder how long they are going to be shielded from the mess of another 4 years of budget cuts for kids with disabilities and every marginalized group. If Trump turns every place of education into a patriotic prayer school, will they be able to exist in a bubble and have these happy moments we so all need to keep sane? I wonder...

Alternate shots for the Macro Mondays theme bubbles. They are quite fun to shoot - the trick is to know when to put down the camera and walk away (for me that was about 300 shots later at 1am) :-)

Probably the best of my frozen bubbles from yesterday evenings attempt. Depth of field is too shallow, but I'm Ok with it.
This one is shot at night with LED light source.
I was out last evening taking photos of the dog jumping up for bubbles when I accidentally zoom in on a bubble itself. It has caught an interesting reflection inside - just for fun
Never used for its intended purpose, and frequently under threat of heading to the next car boot sale, this IKEA glass paperweight finally found use as a source of inspiration for the Macro Mondays theme Bubbles.
