Bubble skirt made out of cotton layer under and tulle outer, Following Aida's tutorial for Project Run and Play. Worked great.

I made a couple changes to her tutorial:

1. made it into a skirt, not a dress. Fits my petite 20 month old daughter.

2. When connecting the two layers on the bottom, I encased the raw edges in some blue bias binding and then sewed that down to the under-layer, so I was left with a nice trim at the bottom.

Batwing top made out of some mystery knit fabric bought at the thrift store. I took one of her oensies, traced that onto the fabric and added the bat-wings and it worked great. It fits her, and it looks great with pants also. The fabric is veeeeeeery stretchy, so my top-stitching stretched the hem a little bit.

Also I made her a little infinity scarf out of the lining fabric. It is the cutest little scarf.

Yep, definite book title potential there.

A scene from the command centre of a Cylon Basestar? Not quite. It's an eye-catching display at the Ontario Science Centre in Toronto, Ontario, featuring several tubes of water with air bubbles migrating slowly up to the ceiling.

Incidentally, BSG fans should understand the reference. For those that don't watch the show... well, what's your excuse? ;)

Bubbles and Beast

The cat and the dog usually join in the fun with the bubbles. I had no idea the dog could jump this high. (Yes, they are both trying to catch the bubbles in their mouths)

Bubble floating on dry ice evaporation

pot of brown rice boiling on the stove. I love the reflection of the wall clock in the bubbles. :-)

Nana came & looked after the twins while I had Cam had his tryathlon and Rob was at the mountain bike track. She took them shopping and gave them some money to spend. Deanna bought her heart necklace & Logan bought bubble mix which caused much fun for them both

Vista Mahan demonstrated the Bubbling technique using some kind of metal grid to poke wet fabric through. After the fabric dried, she ironed fusible interfacing to the back side to stabilize it before removing it from the grid. A unique technique to add texture to a project.
