Brighter Days Ahead
Pools of darkness become revealed.
I stand in silent stillness.
Colorful skies become a calming tapestry of the mind.
I stand in silent stillness.
Serenity of thought becomes clarity of purpose.
I stand in silent stillness.
Light streaming from the heavens becomes a cleansing of the soul.
I move forward with vigor and hope in my heart.

This is a composite. But the Milky Way in the picture is approximately in the position that the actual MW was at that time of night.
I took a shot of the scene during blue hour for the landscape,
then took about ten shots for the stars and processed them in Starry Landscape Stacker, then another 9 shots for the lightpainting of the caboose. All with the camera staying put on the tripod.
Unfortunately the MW did not show up properly in the shot due to the moon being quite bright already and the sun still contributing light to the sky during nautical twilight. So I took an image of the MW that I took about 4 years ago in early June and used it as a stand in.
I'm hoping to take the same shot again during the next new moon phase and just a little later in the evening.
I'll accept if you call this picture a "fake".
lyrics by Earth, Wind, and Fire
You're a shining star
No matter who you are
Shining bright to see
What you could truly be
(What you could truly be)
Shining star come into view
To shine its watchful light on you
Give you strength to Perry oh yeah
Yeah, make your body big and strong, yeah
It gets very cold when I'm on my scooter so I usually wear fingerless gloves over normal gloves. Invariably though I keep mislaying them so I bought these for £1 in Wilko. They are so bright that I hope that if I mislay them , they'll be easier to find. I’d better add that the hat was a Christmas Gift from NEXT
Two views of the Parrot tulips as they opened up on a sunny day. They are very distracting - I am hardly able to pass by without feeling the need to fetch the camera for 'just one more' shot.
As of today, they have dropped all their petals - but these shots are from May 4th - so they bloomed for over two weeks.
This beautiful male wood duck was just what I needed after seeing my surgeon today. Eye issue still unresolved, but will have the tubes removed by the 1st of the year. If that doesn't work, I will have another surgery, and tubes put back in. UGH, not what I wanted to hear.
Met up with Anita, Dru and Mick for a bright and breezy sunrise on Blyth beach. There was a fence I've been meaning to shoot for ages, so I made my way a bit further down the beach from my normal spot and got set up in the dunes.
To be honest, this fence is probably better at sunset due to the direction it faces, but the strong breeze yesterday meant I was able to make the most of the contrast between soft focus grasses and the sharpness of the fence.

P.S. So much better in lightbox - hit L to view as intended
I can see clearly now
The rain has gone
I accept all the things that I cannot change
Gone are the dark clouds
The dawn has come
It's gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day
