More shots of the brick passage...For this angle, I added a pseudo fog effect and bumped the colors.

Taken on 11/25/10 near Martin Tn. My Father-In-Law took me to this location today. It is amazing! This passage is basically a culvert for a small ditch to run under rail road tracks. The amount of work done just to allow for a small creek/ditch to pass through blew me away.

The bricks are 7 rows deep! We are guessing this was constructed in the 1920's. Since the rail road has been here for a good while and has been removed since the 1980's.

On a side note, I lived in a house that was about 1.5 miles from this when I was in 5th and 6th grade. I explored all over the place and never found this.

I had this many months in my head and finally it's ready.

Some art from my head.

Havertown, PA

The mall didn't have the best lighting, so some of these pictures may not have come out the best.

* A (boring) subject I'm going back to on a more sunny day. Want to get the delicate colors rigth :-)

"Rør & mursten"

* Et (kedelig) emne, jeg har tænkt mig at gå tilbage til en mere solrig dag. Ønsker at fange de sarte farver rigtigt :-)

Whenever I complain that I can't find anything to photograph at home, Stuart always says 'you haven't done that pile of bricks yet' So, this one is for you Stu. A pile of bricks.

that almost resembles stick-on faux-brick. This wall is right next to the one above.

My partner took me to the 'Art of the Brick' exhibition for my recent birthday, ironically on Brick Lane. Two fave things, an art exhibition and lego, three fave things if you count the curry afterwards! The exhibits were dramatically lit, not only enhancing the vibrant colours of the works but also giving them a strange CGI modelled feel. The colours definitely hit the sweet spots in the eyes.

I just thought this spot on the wall was interesting.

"Brick Alley"

Week 45

This week's challenge was "Street Photography." This cool little alley in Charleston, WV is in-between Captiol and Summers street (which was the first brick road in the US). Unfortunately (for photographers) the cool bricks on Summers street now have asphalt on top.

The Avonbridge Brick Works in Avonbridge, Falkirk were established about 1952 by Afton Brick Co Ltd. It lay about 2 kilometres to the east of the village and was known locally as 'the Tinplate'. There was a single Hoffman KIln with 28 chambers. The works closed in 1977 and has lain derelict ever since.
