Ice Planet rover that I started the last day of February, finished in the following weeks then didn’t get around to photographing till now. Had an idea for the wheels and then found the canopy combo, it all grew from there.

Here’s my contribution for Novvember. Often I go minifigure scale with my vic vipers, but was intrigued by the very sleek, angular proportions a lot of Gradius Vic Vipers have. So this year used that as the starting point for my design, rather than a cabin that could fit a minifigure. It was a very fun build and I’m pleased with how it turned out.

I always like coloured terraces. Found this one in Camden.

Winter time means castle building time! Isaac and I collaborated on this tavern, building it over a three week period. Building time was pretty sporadic in those weeks due to the holidays, but we had lots of fun with it. We were primarily inspired by this artwork from Jinwon Yun. All the windows are lit to add to the inviting warm look contrasting with the frigid winter environment. It is an entry into the Trading Places category of Brickscalibur and the Miscellaneous category of Guilds of Historica anniversary challenge.

We’d be curious to hear if you can pick out what sections each of us built!

The Wayfarers' Den is a well known tavern nestled into a wooded valley near the crossroads between Valholl, Omurtag, and Daydelon. Being a full day's journey from the nearest town, it provides a natural rest point and warm refuge for the tradesmen and travelers trekking through Mitgardia's frigid mountains. And with its well equipped larder and large central hearth, customers are often tempted into staying an extra day or two.

While Glorfindel has often stopped there on his journeys, he always eagerly welcomes the sight of its sturdy walls amidst the pines.

Due to his young age, Eryl has seen comparatively few taverns. And most were modest affairs when compared to the Den's three stories. His first visit was an experience he will always remember. Cold and exhausted from a day's journey, he was relieved to hear Glorfindel say they would stop for the night. So weary was he , that he hardly noticed the inn until a stable hand helped him off his horse and urged him indoors. The warmth, light and laughter inside quickly reinvigorated him - along with a heaping helping of stew. The night progressed and he listened in rapture to Mitgardians from all over the country swapping stories and telling tall tales. Finally he followed Glorfindel upstairs and tumbled into a bed beneath thick furs to sleep soundly.

A tribute model inspired by Brickthing’s iconic TX Supernova. It was an incredibly fun model to build, and came together very quickly. The colors and general shape of the original gave me a great starting point, and then I made my own interpretation of the details at a smaller scale. The stand uses the new large click joints to allow for lots of display angles.

Built for the “Ultimate Tree House” category of the MOCathalon. I’ve always wanted to build a tree house, so this was a very fun category for me, though still a bit tricky at times. The tree house features a working crane, tire swing, rope bridge, and a full interior.

Inspired by Legopard's beautiful tree house: www.flickr.com/photos/legols/24125168792/in/faves-1300938...

Fun fact: This build used all of the green, bright green, and dark green leaves in our collection.

Billy’s magnificent tree house is the most popular hangout area for all the kids in his neighborhood.

A freebuild for Guilds of Historica. I used the vast majority of our dark brown collection in this build, and really like how it looks with the reddish brown walls. The storehouse features a full interior with plenty of supplies stored for the winter. And the doors work.

Decked out in the epaulets and sash of his military rank, Colonel Major William Fitzgerald preps to make his way to represent the Empire of Blenheim in the World Court. ...In his hand, the brave Hussaria sword which he has often wielded victoriously in the battlefield - and alongside him trots his pet hamster (or alternatively porcupine, if you insist, haha) in his steampunk monocycle.

Aha, yes, exactly. That's just it.

In this modern, Victorian age of steam and glory no decent, self-respecting hamster would run in the old wheelhouse, and no way Colonel Major Fitzgerald's will be behind in that regard!

------

Alright! I must admit, I've never tried my hand at anything like this (well, 'cept one bust, but that's not quite the same, haha), but I really did enjoy building this guy! - for... the most part, XD I definitely took loads of inspiration from Eero and his amazing brick-built characters, and while the parts restraints kept me from getting the proportions exactly right, the result is worth it anyways, :D Just wish this was a MILPO build, hahaha! Long live the Empire of Blenheim to shine in the battles of DA! See you all on the battlefield!

Thanks for viewing, everyone, and I hope to have more for y'all soon! :)

C&C welcome as always!

More from Inveresk. I walked down a long track with walls both sides. Some interesting shots.

Visit the link to see the progression and check out all the amazing music and builds!

Ian and Lee did an amazing job creating a piece of music that sparks your imagination. I listened to it quite a few times picking out different sections or sounds that brought feelings or potential build ideas to mind. Settling on just one concept was definitely no easy task! In the end I simplified things down to three primary sections of the song; and decided to portray those themes in a fantasy forest setting.

The first to me has a slightly eerie, mysterious, industrial feel to it with the hammers, wind, and ticking sound. 0 - 1:15

In the middle the mood shifts to something magical, serene, and peaceful. 1:15 - 1:45

Lastly, the final portion is ominous, foreboding, and has a feeling of unknown, almost other-worldly danger, especially the last few moments. 1:45 - 3:03

There are lots of ways you could interpret the music, and the same is true of my finished model.

It was a very fun and unique way to approach building a scene, and pushed me to think about things in ways I normally wouldn't. Throughout the build I tried to use colors, textures, and layout to emphasize the corresponding themes I took from the music. I would love to hear what you thought of while listening to the piece that inspired this build!

This is my entry to the Space Jam contest, in the travel poster category. I was inspired by vintage travel posters, usually with a character on the foreground and a monument / landscape on the background, and mostly pastel colors.

All the elements fit into the same shot, including the “Gaia” brickbuilt text. Here is the original picture, and that’s the photography set-up.

In editing, I removed the supports and changed the background to a sky. I also removed the light reflections on the character’s head, enhanced the colors and added the “visit” and “station” text.

An entry into the Guilds of Historica 10th year anniversary challenge. Between that, the CCC XX, and Brickscalibur, there are plenty of reasons to be building in the castle theme right now!

It has been far too long since I made a large medieval scene. I got quite a lot of elements in the new flesh colors last year, and have been wanting to make some buildings with them ever since. The model is viewable from all sides and features full interiors throughout with businesses on the ground floor and apartments above. There is even a section of sewers underneath street level.

August 2015 - August 2021.

For this occasion I decided to build a brickbuilt sign with the letters reminiscent of some of my MOCs that I'm the most proud of. Name them all. ;)

Can't believe it's already been this much! 6 years is almost 1/3 of my entire life and I cannot be more happy to have spent a lot of this time on my most favourite hobby - LEGO.

I've made so many frienships through this hobby, visited so many conventions and spent way too much money. :P Huge shoutout to my LUG mates at Zbudujmy.to, my dear friend Adam (Ace bricks), Brickzlab guys and, last but not least, the Gents.

If you reached this far in the description, thank you. As I' had been editing the picture I have come to a self reflection. The letters do not all look the same in terms of shape, and it kind of symbolizes my quality of the MOCs - it hasn't been top all the way through.

It's not a bad thing, though. All those MOCs are my creations and I'm proud of every single one of them.

Thank you all for following and supporting me, 6 years or less! There is still a lot of stuff I want to share with you all!

Trefoldighetskirken i Arendal - or - Trinity Church in Arendal. This is a very large brick built church, nicely lit up at night.

Had been too long since I just did some building for fun, and I felt like making a spaceship. Didn’t have anything specific in mind, so looked at what interesting elements I had around. Some RB 3x3x5 quarter cylinder with arches normally used for tree trunks and white balloon panels caught my eye. And the rest of the craft grew from there. Has an opening cockpit that reveals the little turtle pilot.

Old Brick & Tile Kiln near Kepier Farm, Durham 05 May 2018

This brick kiln dates from the 1800s. It is near the Grange farm (Kepier Farm dating 1400-1500s), which provided food to the Abbey in Durham (now Cathedral). Adjacent to Kepier Farm is also the Hospital of St Giles of Kepier, founded in 1180.

A collab between Isaac and myself, inspired by the art on the ‘castle’ card from the board game Everdell. It had been too long since we were able to build together, and this made for a very fun project over the winter holidays. Have to recommend Everdell as a fun board game with some beautiful artwork too!

Built for the Large Misc. category in CCC XIII.

This is my first Castle model entirely based off of a real castle: Bodiam Castle in England. I built only the front wall, and it isn't scaled perfectly, but I think it's close enough to be quite recognizeable. Also I changed the bridge layout, because of space limitations.

See a picture of the real Bodiam castle here: www.raspberrypi.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/england-bo...

There's no interior this time, though the portcullis and main doors are functional.

Another build for the Isles of Aura.

Dear Journal,

After seeing a sign indicating that mercenaries, and bounty hunters were needed to hunt down a man simply known as ‘the Cap’n’, who had apparently become a significant trouble to the kingdom, I reported to the Town Hall to sign up for the mission. Inside I found a colonel overseeing the hiring, several soldiers keeping watch over the proceedings, and the usual clerks about their business. The contract was straight forward: only the first man to capture the rogue and bring him safely to the Realm of Vermilion would receive the the large bounty. As I signed the contract, along with several other men, I was surprised to see what appeared to be a young gentleman who looked to be a bit of a dandy, arrive. He talked to the Colonel privately for a moment, then turned to address us all. To my surprise, he apparently was going after the Captain himself, and he suggested we all work together to capture him, and then split the reward. For this purpose, he proposed to host a feast the next day, and our discussion of plans to occur there. The others agreed readily enough, but I had my doubts as to his true intentions, and thus had no plans of showing up, but planned to depart on the first ship I could find heading towards where the Captain had last been known to be operating.

This is an entry for the Trading Places category of Brickscalibur and the Old but Gold category of the current Guilds of Historica challenge. It is a revamp of the candlemaker’s shop I built back in 2014. It features a full interior and uses the floating cobblestone technique we have previously shared a tutorial on.

Glorfindel and Eryl continued on their journey after stopping at the Wayfarer’s Den, eventually coming to Hradheim. There Glorfindel was able to visit his old friend, Kenan, who owns the candle shop Wax and Wick. It sits in the shopping district of Hradheim which is always bustling with folks going about various errands or hawking their wares. Some sweet treats purchased from a baker’s stall nearby were just the thing to provide energy for another day’s travel.

Built for the “Night at the Opera” category of the 2016 MOCAthalon. I’m not familiar with opera in general, but I enjoyed the opera scene from Mission Impossible, Rogue Nation and decided to base my build off of that. It was an interesting challenge to include both the stage and props, as well as some backstage area and support structure.

My entry to round 3 of The Tourney. The category I chose was to revamp any castle set, and I decided to do the Yellow castle 375. Instead of doing yellow with red for the wooden sections, as on the original, I did tan with Reddish Brown for wood. My castle features a working drawbridge, four hinging sections, working doors, a blacksmith shop, and a stables.

Years went by, and though a bit wary at first, the monks soon recognized Lyra's passion for learning and welcomed her as one of them. Lyra studied arduously and started using portals more frequently. Visiting new places, and experiencing what she had only imagined before. Which didn't reduce the value of stories but rather heightened it.

As time passed, she realized her ability offered a unique opportunity to search out and discover libraries and collections of books thought to be lost forever. She gave herself to studying maps, learning legends, and exploring. Old ruins frequently housed priceless volumes, and those that were salvageable she would bring back to the monastery where her quarters were quickly becoming stuffed.

I originally started this build back in the end of November with the intention of entering it into the Colossal Castle Contest. But, life got very busy, and I ended up running out of time. So when they extended the deadline to January 31st, I used that as motivation to finish the half-completed monstrosity that was taking up the majority of my desk. There are still some things I would revise a bit if I had more time, (particularly some of the interior areas) but all in all I’m very happy to have it finished! And I’m also super glad to have finally done another sizable build set in Allanar Forest. The build was inspired by this wonderful artwork by Myoung Hoon Park.

The Dwelves’ primary mine is located on the west edge of Allanar Forest. These days Goren generally oversees mining operations, but the massive lodge is used for much more than just mining. Added on to and repaired many times over the years, the structure is a welcome sight for any dwelves traveling through that part of the forest. From offering shelter and accommodation for hunters, to warmth and a hearty meal for herdsman moving animals between pastures, the ancient building is a true landmark and great place to meet with old friends.

I can never resist FebRovery, and wasn’t going to let my tiny rover from the Astro Warden be my only contribution! This mining vehicle brought back lots of memories of playing with Power Miners and was a ton of fun to build. I managed to utilize some interesting yellow elements I’ve had around for a while along with the unusual sand blue technic column.

The saw arm can rotate 360° and extend or retract for mining or transit mode. The windscreen also opens, and the whole roof can be removed for easier access to the cabin.
