The morning mist starts to lift as the sun breaks through in the Eden Valley. Cross Fell in the Pennine Range can be seen, it holds the title as England's highest point outside of the Lake District, but still in Cumbria.
It was jail break day at our house. Sick of sitting around at home, we decided to take Kenzie the pup and go for a walk in the woods. We hit our usual spot along the Bear River. I dawdled behind with my recently repaired knee, while Marg and Kenzie plunged ahead. Dawdling was a good thing as I got to take a few snaps at the local scenery. Here, the Bear trickles through what are normally hefty cascades--not much rain yet so the volume of water was low. Oh well, it's still pretty me thinks.

Breaking the silence in the quaint and sleepy community of Bancroft, CN train 394 is making decent time as they prepare to enter the double track section of the Flint sub between Bancroft and Durand. Today's train is sporting CN 3233 in the lead, 1 of 2 Honoring Veterans engines CN unveiled in the last few months.
