"Do the small things of life with a relaxed awareness.
When you are eating, eat totally -
chew totally, taste totally, smell totally.
Touch your bread, feel the texture.
Smell the bread, smell the flavor.
Chew it, let it dissolve into your being."

Standing before Lake Urmia, I felt how this ancient bond of bread and salt still breathes through nature.
In our culture, bread and salt are more than food; they are a silent covenant between people. When you sit at someone’s table and share their bread and salt, you are no longer just a guest. From that moment on, you carry an unspoken duty: to honor that home, to protect that bond, even if one day your paths part. Bread and salt are a bridge between hearts—a passage that binds you with loyalty and respect.
When I stood before this Salt Lake, it felt as if I could finally see that belief come alive. The moment you step into the water, your steps grow heavy, and with each move you sink deeper, bound by the salt around you. Just like the bond of bread and salt between people—once shared, it holds you, reminding you of a promise that cannot easily be broken. Here, nature echoes the wisdom of generations: loyalty, commitment, and reverence for the bread we once broke together.
This dough mixer reminded of something from a sci-fi movie.

Fairy Bread (bread & butter with sprinkles) is a favourite for Aussie kids' Birthday Parties. For Jesus' Birthday I think it should be called Angel Bread.

I came upon Hershey (front) and Rosie while cross country skiing today in nearby conservation land. They were romping about in the deep snow, like me. Their dad gave me a piece of bread to keep their attention, which was very affective.
Baguette-like, but closer to those European country loaves. Can be made into many shapes. Slashing loaves is fun.
Happy MACRO MONDAYS. This week's theme is Bread.
