PRE-QUEENSBERRY RULES
The longest boxing match in history before Queensberry Rules was Jack Jones versus Patsy Tunney in 1825. The match was a grueling 276 rounds and lasted over 4 hours. Jack Jones emerged victorious.(Guinness World Records)
POST-QUEENSBERRY RULES
The longest boxing match in history after Queensberry Rules was Andy Bowen versus Jack Burke on April 6th, 1893. The match lasted 110 rounds with both boxers refusing to leave their corner in the 111th round. The match was ruled a "no-contest" because both of the boxers gave up, but was later changed to a draw. This was for the Lightweight Championship and the winner-take-all purse was $2,500. The match lasted 7 hours and 19 minutes in New Orleans, Louisiana.
