The last ever pro boxing match in Hackney. Shoreditch Town Hall 11/3/69. Joe Bugner v Ulric Regis. Regis tragically died afterwards. Critics argue that Joe Bugners heart was never in boxing after this fight.
From Boxing Monthly 08-99
"But in his next fight, Bugner was unimpressive in outpointing Ulric Regis at the old Shoreditch Town Hall in east London. The fight was booed, as was the verdict when Bugner’s hand was raised after eight rather desultory rounds, although my impression was that Bugner dominated.
He had not seemed to punish Regis all that heavily, but then came the news that the boxer from Trinidad had been taken to hospital and undergone a brain operation. Regis died, and perhaps something went out of Bugner after that."

Good article on deaths in the ring by Graham Houston including this fight that he witnessed
Heavyweight Joe Bugner also was never regarded as a big puncher, but a journeyman from Trinidad named Ulrich Regis died after being outpointed by Bugner, again at Shoreditch Town Hall. Once more I was at ringside. Bugner was winning the rounds, but he did not seem to be hitting Regis terribly hard. As I recall, the fans booed the passivity shown by Bugner. Yet Regis suffered a brain injury and never recovered.
