The storage boxes work great. Everything is stored by room and it makes it very easy to decorate each room as I am ready.

Each year, Gallery Route One in Point Reyes invites over a hundred artists to create unique works of art using a wooden box.
Here are the inspiring artworks they created this year: they range in style from whimsical to poignant and thought-provoking. These photos were taken on closing day, when the gallery organized a live auction for each of this year’s 150 boxes. The proceeds support the gallery’s exhibits and community programs.
Two of the boxes were created by members of our art community: Howard Rheingold (a.k.a. Dr. Rindbrain) contributed an illuminated box called ‘Magical’, while Geo Monley and Meryl Rubenstein made ‘Les Puzzles.’
Members of ‘Pataphysical Studios came to cheer for their peers -- Dr. Really was the highest bidder for Dr. Rindbrain’s piece, which was thus kept in the family. After the show, we all went to Stellina to celebrate over a nice dinner.

This painting was a demonstration painting for a workshop in Mt. Shasta, California. This subject matter is near the headwaters of the Sacramento River, on a "catch and release" trout stream at Cantara Loop, just south of Mt. Shasta city. Luckily, this marvelous stretch of water has miraculously recovered from a toxic spill of some years ago.

Made these boxes to store music (CDs --and old tapes we don't want to part with) from scratch, using recycled materials only.
I cut pieces of cardboard from discarded big sturdy boxes and I created the narrow & deep boxes I needed. I fixed the corners with masking tape and then used strips of torn old newspapers to cover the boxes with several layers, papier maché style (using homemade flour glue.)
Once the boxes were very sturdy, I painted them black and proceeded to decorate them using clippings from my collection of junk mail (catalogues and magazines that continue to arrive in the mail, unrequested).
They help us keep that music section organized and I like the colors.
I bought shoes from Mimiwoo on ebay before the strike and today I got them. She's such a good seller.

The box - a new invention? Disadvantage of this kind of box is, you can't really close it. You need an inner bag to prevent the pieces from falling out. What the seller of this used puzzle didn't - I was really lucky that none of the pieces was lost!
From the same seller I purchased another puzzle, 2 years ago, and it was the same problem: no inner plastic bag, the pieces fell out when i opened the (very thin) envelope, and at the end I had one piece missing. I wrote an email to her and suggested to bag the pieces, but obyiously she still doesn't. The other ouzzle was this:
My daughter gave me this box to replace the one which I've been using. That previous one is made of thick embossed cardboard and was given to me, filled with notecards and envelopes, when I left a school in which I taught, in 1980.

Ancient lockable box in the National Museum of Scotland". I've always loved this box and can remember being fascinated by it when I was a child, trying to work out how it all operated.

Another junk box. Mostly electronic stuff but also some gutted floppy drives and strange expansion cards. When you're an electronics nut these are very useful, if not indispensable.
