Wooden Tissuebox cover .
This is a pyrographic ( woodburned image ) piece that was burned and then the fish and circle were done in colour pencil and then the box was stained with an acrylic wash and then sealed to protect it.
The fish is a spotted lionfish. This is an amazing and beautiful predatory fish from the Scorpionfish family. It's bright colours warn of it's strong protective venom in the spines.

A variation of my chimera box, folded inside-out (which is actually easier)
The Pololu MD01B motor driver in it's new home. Have to use plastic screws because the plating around the mounting holes is hot. This small piece of aluminum fastens inside the box via the two countersunk holes visible above the buttons in the previous photo.
Diavolino board mounts on the opposite side.

Also in this set is Junnosukebe's MNF Rheia boy, Chu, Jin's boyfriend who has been waiting for a rather long time for him to get here!

Each year, Gallery Route One in Point Reyes invites over a hundred artists to create unique works of art using a wooden box.
Here are the inspiring artworks they created this year: they range in style from whimsical to poignant and thought-provoking. These photos were taken on closing day, when the gallery organized a live auction for each of this year’s 150 boxes. The proceeds support the gallery’s exhibits and community programs.
Two of the boxes were created by members of our art community: Howard Rheingold (a.k.a. Dr. Rindbrain) contributed an illuminated box called ‘Magical’, while Geo Monley and Meryl Rubenstein made ‘Les Puzzles.’
Members of ‘Pataphysical Studios came to cheer for their peers -- Dr. Really was the highest bidder for Dr. Rindbrain’s piece, which was thus kept in the family. After the show, we all went to Stellina to celebrate over a nice dinner.

melbourne. it wasn't a huge bargain at $20 but the rusty little sewing scissors and number of wooden spools in a box handmade from an old cheese crate made it a pretty easy decision.

These electrical distribution boxes are an eyesore in most of Taiwan, but in the Nangang district of Taipei, they look amazing!

During renovation of Kauffman Stadium, some upper deck seating was removed, and new press boxes were added behind home plate. New luxury boxes and suites were added as well.
Saturday 22nd August 2015. The line from Bristol to Wotton Bassett is closed. This 'outage' is so that major works can take place to modify the line for electrification. Although Brunel's famous tunnel has an impressive portal, the tunnel roof actually reduces down quite dramatically and it's not lined. It's hacked out of rock. The process here apparently is to lower the track bed in order to gain height for the catenary.

For Our Daily Challenge - BOX
My husband collects all sorts of wooden boxes, preferably ones made from a solid piece of timber. His favourites are these puzzle boxes. Carved from a single block of wood, each have about 5 bits that have to be taken out in the right order to get to the storage compartment.
I know how to get into them now so he doesn't leave any loose change in them anymore! ;-)

This Pillar Box (for overseas readers, that is the British term for a post or mail box used to send letters) is in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. It's in one of the streets around the Ash Grove Water Tower: embarrasingly, I can't remember which street, but I think it might be Hawthorn Avenue.
LATE CORRECTION: it's Laburnum Avenue - see the comment below from John Spooner

Blackpool tram No 31, a so-called Marton Box, climbs towards the Foulbridge stop at Beamish, Living Museum of the North. The vehicle, one of a batch of 15, was built originally as a four-wheel open-topper in 1901 by the Midland Railway Carriage & Wagon Company for use on the Marton route. It was reconfigured by Blackpool Corporation Transport in 1918. The body was lengthened and attached to a new underframe. A cover to the top deck was carried between 1928-34. No 31 has been restored to its 1919 condition as a high-capacity open-topper and and returned to service in 1988. The tramway at Beamish, to which it is on loan, features a one-and-a-half-mile circuit, with three passing loops and a double track section through a recreated townscape.
