A box turtle soaks in a pool in an ephemeral streambed in the bottom of a steephead ravine feeding the Apalachicola River. Box turtles in this area are extremely variable, exhibiting characters from both eastern box turtles and Gulf Coast box turtles.
Wanted a change from the food :) The pearls although broken were a gift a few years ago but the box is from Kashmir (a friend went a few years ago :D)
...Brey’s “boxes” are only boxes in a single sense. They appear ordinary and familiar from the outside, but at the point of contact, interaction or performance they begin to unfold. The material and situational complexity of works like Sutra, 2010, The Black Cube, 2012, Water 2013, The Uncanny, 2015 and others, reveal themselves to be constellations within a Caribbean universe. Through them, Brey speaks to the infinity of the natural world, the sublime possibilities of one’s dreams and imagination. In part, thee works also act as psychological container of fractured history, blurred and concise memories and through material, form and experience, enter the fifth dimension. Kaliphlin may be a war torn, battle scarred guild, but here as elsewhere, ordinary hardworking people bring everyday beauty to lives throughout the Siccus Badlands.
My first contribution to the Kaliphlin at Work collab. Don't miss the rest over at Guilds of Historica!
See the build behind the scenes and read about its making here at my blog!
The signal box at Welshpool - from the train, 30/6/83. The netting and posts are possibly ex- tablet catchers?
Mission accomplie ! 💪
My first spacewalk without Shane is a wrap, more than happy to be with Aki though! Even though it was just the two of us outside, we never feel alone, with Mark, Megan and Shane on the inside following and helping, and the best teams on Earth over the radio we felt like an extension of a well-oiled machine! They even saved some 🍨 for us afterwards, #dreamteam. Spacewalks last 7 hours and are like top sport so we need the calories afterwards! The new solar panels are ready to be slotted in to the base structure we assembled, these will be installed sometime next year, handing over to the next team to keep maintaining and improving the station and what it stands for.

- www.kevin-palmer.com - I've always wanted to see what Box Canyon looks like from this overlook. It was very scenic after the snow the evening before.

The K4 box incorporated a post box and stamp vending machines. In production 1930-35 only 50 were made and only 5 still survive. Whilst the stamp machines are long out of use, this one in Frodsham, Cheshire, still functions as a phone and post box.
Small (mainly) linen and cotton quilt from recycled and reclaimed fabric. The background is dark blue/black. Ok, so there is a touch of green in the boxes too!

cigar boxes. A big stack! at 'Madam Tojo's' in Labrador
lots of weird odds & ends in this coffeeshop.
A box turtle decided to walk along our sidewalk to the home, so i picked it up and moved it to a safer area and took a couple of photos.
I used the 100-400mm along with an extender so i could shoot closer than the 6 foot minimum focus distance. The extender, which is basically a ring with no lenses, allows very close focus but does not let you focus after say 6 feet.
An amazing thing in Iran is to see this box all over the place, from north to south, east to west.
This box is intended to be used to collect money for the poor people (9ada8aat).
For "7 Days of Shooting" "Week #25” “Free” “Unusual PoV Tuesday" Another miscellaneous box.
