From an autumn walk at low tide along Southern Harbor.

Maintained by the university's Botany Department, the garden is home to more than 500 plant species.

Botany Pond, a very small, very precious water feature on the University of Chicago campus, supports a lot of plant species, aquatic life like turtles and fish and breeding mallard ducks in the summer. Read about its interesting origins and development here:

Slide from a set used to teach biology at Belleville Collegiate Institute and Vocational School, Belleville, Ontario, possibly in the 1920s. The original boxes were labelled 'Junior' and 'Senior', but the contents appear to have been mixed up.

 

Donated to the Community Archives of Belleville and Hastings County by Mike and Sue Mills in October 2015.

1770年4月29日

詹姆斯·庫克上校搭乘努力號帆船抵達此處

並從這裡踏上了澳洲大陸

 

隨後此處成為了英國政府的計劃流放地

但第一批歐洲移民

最終選擇了植物學灣稍北的雪梨灣作為定居點

  

然後不是蘋果執行長那個庫克

We were on the road to Botany Bay at 5:30 am. This was the first shot on arrival taken at 7:30am.
