Karen and I were taking photos of Hershey and Cooper and trying different poses. It seems that Hershey here got a little bored with all the going on's, promptly laid down and that's where he stayed. Cooper on the other hand is quite the photo hog and doesn't mind in the least of having his photo taken.
Severn Bore Surfing at Old Passage in Gloucestershire, England.
The River Severn has the third highest tidal reach in the world. Twice a day the tide comes in and causes a wave, called The Bore. On Spring Tides the wave is big enough to surf.
Thứ 7 - Quỳ suốt đêm diễn ĐPS8 vì không có chỗ đẹp để chụp

This little Chickadee was photographed on a feeding tree at my neighbour's house.
Photo taken with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 and M.Zuiko 40-150mm f/2.8 Pro handheld. The finished image was processed from raw using DxO PhotoLab 5.1.3. The sun was behind the bird and post, creating a strongly backlit subject, and requiring a lot of shadow recovery in post, but even here, the original OM-D E-M1 in combination with DxO PhotoLab really produces a fine result.

Boreal Chickadee, Algonquin Provincial Park, Feb 23, 2017
The rain stopped and the fog lessened enough for me to get this shot of a boreal chickadee. A lifer for both Anne and me.
Poecile hudsonicus
The oldest recorded Boreal Chickadee was at least 5 years, 4 months, when it was recaptured and rereleased during banding operations in Nova Scotia.
I have shots of this boat from many different angles - 2 of which have been posted previously. Although I was happy with the composition of this picture the sky was fairly boring so this became my first attempt at using textures - this could become addictive!

In my shooting experience, I sometimes encounter such scenes.
I think the solution is to change her hobby to photography. ?
On Dec 27th and 28th I went to Votier's Flats in search of the American Dipper that had been reported. One of my friends had some very nice photos of it. Not me! I could not locate it. I really enjoyed getting out while the weather was still bearable. It is way too cold now!
Thanks for your visits and comments! They are greatly appreciated
I discovered on Google Maps that this used to be a local Saab dealer. Taken from the car; the dark spot on the sky in the upper right is dirt on the car window.

... Candles.
I did try and take a new photo, in fact I took a stack of new photos but they all looked flat and boring. So sorry, I dug into the archives. But did change the crop, which I'm not sure has worked!
Will catch up with your photos tomorrow, watching TV.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites.
I was bored and thought my picture in flickr is getting old. I hardly ever use my lumix anymore yet my avatar has it that camera in the picture.
So. I threw this together.
Strobist:
Behind me there are two SB-600 @ F16 cross lighting the wall to blow it to white. Both are flaged to not spill light on me. (I wasn't looking for any rim light)
In front of me just out of frame from the top is a wescott 46 umbrella with a SB-800 @F10 on a boom (home made :P). I needed F10 to keep everything in focus from the tip of the lens to the eyes. F10 was necessary given 200mm.
In the bottom there is a SB-28 @F10 shooting at a gold card on the floor to bounce and fill the areas under my arm and under my chin a bit.
All the above is triggered through the Cactus V4.
Post process:
Took a shot of the color checker passport from x-rite under the same lighting condition and did a profile to make sure I am okay in color. I couldn't see much change. Also added my logo.
Hope you have a great weekend.
It was a real treat to observe up to 3 Boreal Chickadees at once upon a recent visit to the Sax-Zim Bog area in northern Minnesota. This was likely the most time I'd invested in observing these hard to find "northern cousins" of our more common Black-capped Chickadee. Save for the far northern corners of some states, this bird is found mostly in Canada and Alaska. They are non-migratory, meaning they reside in the same area(s) despite the season. The Boreal Chickadee has got to be one of my favorite birds! I was thrilled to get great looks at a pair along Haines Rd in the Northwestern corner of British Columbia.
Did you know? Most aurora borealis occur between 90 and 130 km above our heads. The Northern and Southern Lights dance simultaneously and are almost mirror images of each other.
The way the aurora works is a lot like a neon sign, except that in the aurora, the conducting gas is in the upper layer of the atmosphere, instead of a glass tube, and the current circulates along magnetic field lines instead of copper wires.

New Moon
Sunrise was truly boring, yesterday: Blue sky totally flat, Bah! But, i guess there are always beautiful poppies around for hours of pleasure. Exactly!:)
@ Kerstine - Have tons of them from yesterday :))
My award is your presence. Please don't leave badges, group images and invitations on my stream!!
