CSX train W094-19 eases across Bootleg Trestle on their trek down the NS Appalachia Division with 54 loaded side dumps/K&Js bound for the Nolichucky Gorge on the Clinchfield. The 3 head motors were left at Cadet/Big Stone by the Loyal crew returning light from taking C090 to Kingsport earlier. The rock train tangoed with a downed tree around Olinger just before the planned pickup of the extra power at Cadet to ensure the train had enough horsepower to get it over the Appy.
Up till now I have only posted b&w or sepia pictures of the performers at Praamstra Live. Yesterday the all women quintet Bootleg Betty played their r&r/rockabilly/country/pop songs. I like the soft colours and tones in this pic of leadsinger Karlijn Wolsing.
Well here he is. Chemicals in the clear mask discolored one arm after being locked in a bag for 30 years. I don't mind, gives him some character. The clear mask is a very nice concept for the time I think. It's very commonplace to have features like clear vinyl and glow these days in newer toys, but I like to think a lot of thought might have been put into this in the 70's. For a bootleg toy it's pretty incredible since they were mostly knock offs of Bullmark, Marusan, Bandai, Popy etc...
Here are both of my Bootleg Archetype He figma guys painted up. Definitely the smallest customs I’ve painted so far. After buying the flesh tone version and painting him up I decided he should get a boyfriend but I wasn’t willing to pay any more than like… $15 so I chose the grey version that was offered.
Unfortunately the grey one has two right feet but the price was small enough that I didn’t really care.
Since I wanted this guy to look as different as possible I sculpted some hair and tried painting an expression that was completely different to my first one while working with the pouty face sculpt.
I’m pretty happy for two little buff figures that pose like champs.
