29 Operation Homefront military families received a special surprise this week from the Boot Campaign's Santa Boots program. Volunteer "elves" picked, wrapped, packed and delivered packages filled with goodies for the entire family, all across the US. The Boot Campaign strives to make the holiday season brighter for Americas veterans, active duty personnel and military families this year, and by partnering with Operation Homefront, they can find exactly where that need can be filled.

The ‘Boot’ replaced an earlier Boot Inn, which stood on the same site and was originally a small farmhouse. It was converted into a public house in the late 18th or early 19th century. The current building, now a Wetherspoon's, is grade 2 listed, and was formerly known as Yates Wine Lodge. At one time, Burnley was reputed to have more pubs per head of population than any other town in Britain, and was known as England most drunken town.

A boot is a type of footwear and a specific type of shoe. Most boots mainly cover the foot and the ankle and extend up the leg, sometimes as far as the knee or even the hip. Most boots have a heel that is clearly distinguishable from the rest of the sole, even if the two are made of one piece. Traditionally made of leather or rubber, modern boots are made from a variety of materials. Boots are worn both for their functionality – protecting the foot and leg from water, snow, mud or hazards or providing additional ankle support for strenuous activities – and for reasons of style and fashion. High-top athletic shoes are generally not considered boots, even though they do cover the ankle, primarily due to the absence of a distinct heel.
I thrifted these kid's cowboy boots and my hubby cut them up for me (I couldn't do it!). Regular scissors worked.

Took a 8s shot with my Nikon D7000 and a Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 lens at ISO 400 of Corona Borealis (Northern Crown) and Boötes (Herdsman) on the 19th of February at 2am CST from my back porch near a bigger city.
I took a sequence of 10 pictures and wanted to play with stacking them, but those results were not very promising and I have to practice more (process, software, how-to).
The posted picture is a single frame that was only slightly edited in the Apple Photos app by increasing the contrast to 1.00 (max). Otherwise it is the RAW file (NEF) directly from the camera and saved as a TIFF file.
