The various antennae/ wires that are attached to the conning tower are the main reason why I ended up building a much larger diorama than I originally intended. By having a bow wave and a wave flowing over the deck aft of the tower, I had attachment points for these wires.

29 Operation Homefront military families received a special surprise this week from the Boot Campaign's Santa Boots program. Volunteer "elves" picked, wrapped, packed and delivered packages filled with goodies for the entire family, all across the US. The Boot Campaign strives to make the holiday season brighter for Americas veterans, active duty personnel and military families this year, and by partnering with Operation Homefront, they can find exactly where that need can be filled.

Burnley, The Boot Inn. Designed in the ‘Edwardian Baroque style’ in 1911 by Blackpool architect H Thompson. The ‘Boot’ replaced an earlier Boot Inn, which stood on the same site and was originally a small farmhouse. It was converted into a public house in the late 18th or early 19th century. The current building, now a Wetherspoon's, is grade 2 listed, and was formerly known as Yates Wine Lodge. At one time, Burnley was reputed to have more pubs per head of population than any other town in Britain, and was known as England most drunken town.

It's been a while since I posted a photo of her. She's loves the couch but not as much as riding in the truck.

A boot is a type of footwear and a specific type of shoe. Most boots mainly cover the foot and the ankle and extend up the leg, sometimes as far as the knee or even the hip. Most boots have a heel that is clearly distinguishable from the rest of the sole, even if the two are made of one piece. Traditionally made of leather or rubber, modern boots are made from a variety of materials. Boots are worn both for their functionality – protecting the foot and leg from water, snow, mud or hazards or providing additional ankle support for strenuous activities – and for reasons of style and fashion. High-top athletic shoes are generally not considered boots, even though they do cover the ankle, primarily due to the absence of a distinct heel.

Think I gotta work on a better pic of these.

I thrifted these kid's cowboy boots and my hubby cut them up for me (I couldn't do it!). Regular scissors worked.

Subject assignment 1 from the work photo group is shoes this month. Got a chance to try playing studio photographer for an hour or so which was fun, though not having any lights was a bit of a pain.

This weekend I needed to scour a few boot fairs for useful items for my upcoming move into an unfurnished house. I have a fairly tight budget and essentials such as kitchen items, bedroom and loungeroom furniture on the list. So someone please explain why I bought a resin fox, a resin hare, a toy camera, a childrens mug and a punch magazine from the 1940s instead

Best looked at small (look too closely and you'll see the shoddy selection work around the edges!)

There is another picture in my stream which features a wellington boot (and a girl) and it is one of my "most viewed" pictures.

I just posted this to see if it is the Wellingon Boot that is responsible for the high level of interest - or the pretty girl ??

A pair of comfortable leather brown boots, size 7

Never used, but tried on only to discover I needed a size 8... Those size-eights were incredibly comfortable over both weekends and have held up brilliantly!

Never got around to sending these back, and now it seems the website doesn't carry them any more.
