Today's theme is Random Red, three shots where red is the signiificnt colour. This shot taken in Monterey, California; for me, the name of the yacht said it all.

She hasn't been feeling very good lately. She has some spinal issues (common with dachshunds) but is much better this week and isn't having to take any medication.

Wandelen in een bos (in de buurt van de Hilversumse hei) en dan deze bijzondere dode boom tegenkomen. Ik vind hem prachtig. Hij hoort eigenlijk in een sprookjesbos thuis.

Happy New Year, y'all.

Sorry for the extended absence....busy with life. I have a few shots from trips in December...but really didn't get to take as many shots as I would have liked due to the perils/joys of the family vacation. Here's another shot from the Holiday version of Illuminations....Enjoy! Thanks for looking!!

Pacaya is a volcano in Guatemala. It has two peaks. I was standing on the highest peak which was not erupting, looking down over the lower peak which was erupting every few seconds and also had a side vent lower down oozing lava. A constant strong cold wind was blowing the heat and lava away from me, the only reason why it was possible to be so close to the vent. As the sunlight fades the lava starts to glow. I am working on digitising my old slide collection. Sometimes I get excited reliving once in a lifetime experiences like this one. Technical notes: I used a Nikon ES-1 slide copying adapter screwed to the front of my macro lens to shoot RAW photos from the slides and then process them in LR and Topaz Denoise AI. The original is an Ektachrome 100 35mm slide film, shot with Minolta SR-T 101 and 50mm Rokkor lens.

I missed all the colour this morning but I really like the moodiness in the clouds, just letting us know that a storm is brewing!
