In an attempt to find some passage in the kind of voice I could use for my type ex project, I went to Chapters and skimmed through various novels looking for bits of something.
In the process, I stumbled upon this book which utterly compelled me to pick it up because of its sublime cover design. All the books in the Vintage Classics series are simply gorgeous (The Wind-up Bird Chronicle is also part of this series).
Apparently the Murakami books are popular for theft so they are kept behind the counters... In the end the one bit (by Murakami of course) that stuck out to me was this:
I'm alone. Just me and the malicious, no make that indifferent, dusty morning light.
A preview from this unique piece. It's a giant book I designed for a series by photographer Yveline Loiseur. The exhibition takes place in Lomme, near Lille. I won't be there, but I'll try to get you pictures of the work in situ.

Exam work for Typography Classes of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. The final task has been defined as a complete cover, front and body matter design of a fictional book series – entitled the self-explanatory ”Világirodalmi könyvsorozat” (World Literature Book Series) – of novels from the literature history of the world.
This is how the books look like beside each other on the shelf.
A project based of of Ray and Charles Eams' Building Cards children's toy. We had to pick a design era and make cards about that era. I chose the Arts and Crafts Movement of the 1910's and 20's.
Opracowanie edytorskie "Małego Księcia" Antoine de Saint-Exupéry w postaci kolekcji "43 zachodów słońca"
("Pewnego dnia oglądałem zachód słońca czterdzieści trzy razy - powiedział Mały Książę")
Publikacja jest zbiorem 43 kartek (25x25cm) przechowywanych luźno w pudełku.
Trzon layoutu to pozioma linia (horyzont) wyznaczona kilka centymetrów nad dolną krawędzią.
Cały układ typograficzno-ilustracyjny koncentruje się wokół tego założenia.
Strony ułożone jedna za drugą, tworzą liniową kompozycję o długości prawie 10m.
Każda kartka jest poświęcona jednemu rozdziałowi (lub jednej z dwóch jego części)
