Yesterday sitting and having breakfast and watching the birds. Seeing a few we have no clue. We look in the bird book and sometimes we get them right but most of the time I have to write my favorite bird girlfriend and she helps us out. Which we really appreciate Eileen!! :)

Today is World Book Day in the UK. Children often go to school dressed in costumes that represent favourite characters in books. It encourages them to read more & many say it’s the most exciting day at school.
This is Bella’s version, looking at a cat book (A Cat Called Birmingham by Chris Pascoe) while dressed in her usual fur coat!

I was sitting opposite this distinguished looking gentleman on a subway in Tokyo. I wouldn't normally take a photo in this situation but I couldn't resist. To me he exudes gravitas, and the fact he was reading what's becoming the old-fashioned way - a physical book - added to the scene.
A caption describing a photo in a National Geographic hardcover book "Greece and Rome" from a 4 book series called "The Story Of man." I got the series from my parents as a present when I was a kid (and obviously still have it) and was enthralled with this particular book. I have read through it so many times it's now in danger of falling apart. Nobody does it quite like NG.
Jonita Mullins new book Love's Perfect Gift used my photo for the cover, She is a Muskogee author and asked for the use of this shot for the book, which was an honor and a happy dance to see this cover.

book presentation to USAG Bavaria Fire Chief Josef Rodler at Tower Barracks Fire Station in Grafenwoehr.

It is (was) a cookbook probably late 1920's, into which someone had pasted hundreds of handwritten and newspaper recipes until (even at its prime when I found it a dozen years ago) it was swollen almost to bursting with its pages almost doubled through the gradual accretion of domestic gems.
