When I find loose book pages, I like to try to find out what book they came from. This is "A Kind of Magic, an Autobiography" by Edna Ferber (1963)
From archives, 13 years ago when I was in Italy with some friends.
We were walking down a side street and this brought me to a full stop, wondering...but how do you find a book?
I had a small, for dummies film camera and motioned that I'd like to take his photo.
He nodded yes and smiled.
13 years later, found this and still wondering how do you find a book.
After being slaughtered to near extinction, there are now sizeable numbers of Plains Bison on various prairie landscapes around North America. To me bison are the most iconic species in the prairie ecosystem.
Here's how James Page refers to photographing them in his book, "Wild Prairie".
"...But this prairie icon can be a dangerous beast. Equipped with my longest telephoto lens, I took a walk on the wild side of a big bison bull...It is possible to share common turf with most animals, provided you respect their fight-or-flight distance, which is different for each species and for different individuals within a species. Careful observation is required. There is little margin for error. I kept back 300 feet or more, allowing the solitary bull to become aware of me in increments."
James' book and his wonderful work posted here on Flickr has given me an appreciation for the prairie that I never would have had otherwise.
in a state of slow decay. Printed in 1769. It is barked, cracked, foxed, has mould spots, brittle edges and rubbed extremities, but I still hang on to it.

Formality and fixed frame,
To dare to contest authority

When your cat is sleeping on your favorite book—which you were planning to read—there’s only one thing to do: watch TV.

I finally finished reading a book I started over a year ago. It usually never takes me this long to finish a book but life had me busy doing other things. I have always enjoyed reading but lately I found myself reading only a few pages here and there and usually only if I bring a book along with me to an appointment where I would have to sit in a waiting room for awhile.
Well now that I am done my 365 photo a day project I thought I would try and pick up where I left off with this particular love story. My reclaimed time for reading came as a surprise to my family and the other night my husband made a comment when he saw me sitting at the table reading and then a few minutes later my daughter came upstairs and blurted out "Oh my God, you're actually reading!" Yep, that did it, I am committed to reading more now. :D
If Benji sees me reading a book he will sprawl across it. If I haven't opened the book yet he will still sprawl across it. He knows that my reading takes my attention away from him and he won't stand for that. And it works. Thank you for taking time from your busy day to view, fave and comment on my images. It is ALWAYS appreciated!
