Decided to stake out Bold Street this afternoon to see if we could get some candid street shots from a café window. It was basically an excuse to escape the wind and have a coke float with a mate.
The café window was decorated at eye level, so to get shots you had to put the camera on the table and guess when your subject was in shot. My timing was awful, there are reflection issues and none of the shots are as sharp as I'd like ideally. Decided not to crop or alter these in any way as I quite like the spontaneity of how they've turned out.

I named this picture bold for two reasons. One is that she is in the center of the image looking directly at the viewer in an almost confrontational way. The second reason is that you have to be bold and brave to hold a tarantula.

Shortly after I arrived at Rithet's Bog, I saw a Red-tailed hawk being harassed by a Northwestern Crow, and not liking it one bit. Less than an hour later I saw this battle, where a Red-tailed hawk was boldly attacking a much larger Bald Eagle. It may have been the same hawk I saw fighting off the crow. The eagle was having none of it, though the fight went on for a few minutes. When the hawk dove at the eagle (first bottom panel), the eagle would roll upside down to threaten the pesky hawk with its talons (second bottom panel). In the third bottom panel the eagle is still casually upside down. I didn't see any actual contact between the birds, but it wasn't for lack of trying. After a while the birds gave up the fight and flew off in opposite directions.
