photo hunt #8
word #2 "Bold"
No sunshine here in more than ten days. Gloomy skies and no shadows. I'm soaking up this bold color and pretending to see the sun/s shining in this photo taken on the street last week.

This is my only orange hybrid daylily, and it’s name is “Bold One” I’ve been trying to keep my oranges darker than this, but I just had to include it this month.

Yes, it's that odd lake you see next to the A3 just by the M25 junction. Excellent heavy rain showers meant fab lighting this evening, so I stopped by Bolder Mere on my way home from work. This one is taken with the GF1 with the 20mm 1.7 lens on a tripod. The GF1 is always in the car as is the tripod just in case. 1/13th at f/11 if you're interested, set up in manual mode.
I thought I'd put the camera into RAW mode but must have cocked up as the thing took jpegs instead - annoying as I've lost some editing ability on some of the other shots where I'd exposed a bit higher. More practice required.

This is a hybrid between a modified version of the Bold and Bulky Mini Cardi from Fitted Knits and the collar from the Rockefeller sweater from Twinkle’s Big City Knits. It was a speedy (and cozy) fall knit!

Or should I say, bold and handsome? A quick shot of this colourful male Pine Grosbeak, front view, before he flew off. Would have loved to get a different angle to show the head and eye, but I'll happily take what I got : ) I don't usually see these birds, unless someone happens to mention that there are Pine Grosbeaks atop a tall tree, so it was nice to get a somewhat closer view.

A bold wag tail allowing a very close approach - enough to see the eyebrows! At moorhen flats, norman creek.
I used the Fluorescent Chalk Effect for this photo, then used the magic wand to highlight the trees. I adjusted the brightness to lighten the trees and changed the contrast to show more of the trees texture
