COLLAGENE is a software written to create adaptive and customizable masks.
This project, developed by DO THE MUTATION, explores the border between physical and virtual, connecting computer code's abstractions with the intimate, visceral dimension of body alteration brought by the mask theme. The topographic anatomy of the face acts as input for algorithms that generate the fibers that form the object, creating a material formation that after 3d printing perfectly fits its territory, people's faces.
The masks are produced as unique pieces through 3D Printing and WINDFORM materials.
Windform LX 2.0 is the material chosen for this state-of-the-art application of generative design and it is a black polyamide-based material reinforced with glass fiber used in high performance fields from motorsport to aerospace industry.
Windform LX 2.0 is aesthetically pleasant, able to preserve in time the chromatic features, showing important mechanical characteristics that allow to create highly complex geometries avoiding the risk of breakings or deformations. The feeling on the skin is nice, allowing for a long-lasting dressing.

We did a project on the Human Body, and collected data about eye colours in our family as part of our project.
These throttle bodys on the side of the engine also needed snapping. it also has to be said i think it was the cleanest engine bay at the festival and the cleanest i have ever seen.

this project is called the "wash away project". this project is about resilience and inner strength and the ability to overcome personal shadows, an adversity or anything that has made the person feel small, out of their control or powerless. The people in these photos write the word (or words) that represented their own personal adversity or hardship they have faced in their lives. Their word is written on their face or any part of the body they choose. They are then splashed with a bucket of water to "wash away" the word that once held them back. The water represents the resilience to not let personal struggle dominate who you are and what you are limited to. They have accepted that the word is part of them but they can accelerate past it and move forward to be the person they are. You are yourself. You are who you choose to be. You just have to have the heart and resilience to make your word "wash away".
