A boat approaching to Otorii shrine gate of Itukushima Jinja,which is one of the three most famous views in Japan, in a hazy and cloudy morning.
This boat was coming into harbour after a days fishing! When I packed up to leave after sunset I saw a man cleaning fish on the dockside! He asked me did I get a shot of his boat and if so would I email it to him. Of course, I said I would and as a thank you he kindly gave me half of a beautiful Chinook salmon! How kind!
Broadford is situated along the southern edge of the Inner Sound, forming the largest settlement in South Skye. The main pier in Broadford is still used commercially for fishing and other purposes; a small motor boat, the Family's Pride II, also operates trips from here.
In the past Broadford pier was used to ship out Skye marble from the Kilchrist quarries.
A boat in the boatyard at Stibbington. Nice mix of tones, textures and a bit of decay. Grey day but I felt this set of photos worked very well.

Another shot from Dungeness, that's three this week alone! My personal challenge is to go through all those 'awkward' photographs from my visit there and post them warts and all!
"Dungeness is quite unique, the power station dominates the skyline, but the area is strangely fascinating with its quirky buildings and converted railway carriages. It is shingle beach and debris from the fishing boats is evident. The bleakness has its own attraction. The otherwise flat and exposed landscape is punctuated by two lighthouses."
