The tide has left this boat at a bit of an angle which works for me. The boats at Blakeney Quay, Norfolk often make for good shots but if you ever go there do take note of the tide warnings as the car park and road flood on a regular basis.

Not nearly as glamorous as some but I like these laid back working boat sheds at Eaglehawk Neck, Tasmania.
(an old wooden boat with a traditional fish trap, in a storm)
The shattered water made a misty din.
Great waves looked over others coming in,
And thought of doing something to the shore
That water never did to land before.
The clouds were low and hairy in the skies,
Like locks blown forward in the gleam of eyes.
You could not tell, and yet it looked as if
The shore was lucky in being backed by cliff,
The cliff in being backed by continent;
It looked as if a night of dark intent
Was coming, and not only a night, an age.
Someone had better be prepared for rage.
There would be more than ocean-water broken
Before God’s last *Put out the Light* was spoken.
(Once by the Pacific by Robert Lee Frost)
"A boat is the hardest think I know of to put into perspective. It is so much like a human figure, there is something alive about it."
- Barry S Strauss

Herons are a stocky medium-sized bird. Their bills are as wide as their heads, and they have large eyes that aid in night-hunting. Their beak is very sensitive, allowing them to feel out prey in murky water. They have a dark crown and flight feathers and a light underbelly and face.
Herons have a specialized downy feather that doesn't molt and grows continuously throughout the bird’s life. The ends break off as a powder that the heron then uses while preening to waterproof its other feathers. Franklin Park Zoo, www.zoonewengland.org/franklin-park-zoo/our-animals/birds...
