6 minutes before sunrise, an arc of light appeared over Little Neck Bay, probably caused by the same conditions that formed a double rainbow a little farther away. The light here does look bent, but not refracted enough to break down into rainbow colors. Bayside Marina, Little Neck Bay, Queens, NYC -- November 28, 2022
Eilean Donan Castle, Scotland.
Founded on a small tidal island where three sea lochs meet, Loch Duich, Loch Long and Loch Alsh, in the western Highlands of Scotland in the thirteenth century. It became a stronghold of the Clan Mackenzie and their allies the Clan Macrae.
The Mackenzies' involvement in the Jacobite rebellions led to the castle's destruction by government ships in 1719. The castle was rebuilt by Lt. Col. John MacRae-Gilstrap between 1919 and 1932 and has been open to the public since 1955. Half a million people visit the castle each year.

The Manderscheider castles last night during the late "blue hour". Around the castle ruins, the forest is already very autumnal due to the long drought.
After the rain yesterday (the first in about 6 weeks), there was always some fog coming out of the valley at dusk.
Die Manderscheider Burgen gestern Abend während der späten "blauen Stunde". Rund um die Burgruinen ist der Wald infolge der langen Trockenheit bereits sehr herbstlich.
Nach dem Regen gestern (der erste seit ca. 6 Wochen) stieg in der Abenddämmerung immer wieder etwas Nebel aus dem Tal.

Recently I shot this at sunrise but was not entirely happy with the results, so today after a hike up above the small picturesque Exmoor village of Withypool, I returned for a second try at it post sunset.

This photo was taken during my 2018 visit to Hue, Vietnam. The location was along the bank of the Perfume river. I was going for the iconic Trang Tien bridge but it was too dark at the time, so the next best thing was the pre-dawn photos of the tranquil water before life gets busy on the river itself.

Originally on a 19th Century site of a fort, the Fullerton Building was constructed in 1928. It served as a government nerve center housing the Chamber of Commerce, the General Post Office as well as the office of the colonial Governor of Singapore, among others.
The building was redeveloped as a luxury hotel in 2001, and is now classified as a Singaporean monument subject to its heritage preservation regulations.
