August is our birthday month. Mine on the 12th and Gemma's on the 15th, so we went to Pink Punters in Milton Keynes to celebrate. We had a wonderful weekend!
Night two at Pink Punters. Selfies in the Pink Room.

More experimenting with composite pics - a couple of selections from my previous two sets. The software is very good for making square collages I can put up on Instagram (emilyjaynedonoghue if you want to look me up on Insta - but if you do, please read and respect my profile).
I hope you like them/

It was so good to be back in Lincoln for a weekend after missing it last year. We love Lincoln, it's such a beautiful city.
Saturday evening was just a fantastic evening! We got glammed up and went out looking for somewhere to eat - more difficult than normal because of booking restrictions. But we found a nice Vietnamese place.
After that we walked up steep hill - it is very very steep! - in our heels! That was a first and it actually wasn't too bad - much more difficult coming down, ha ha! And at the top we met a lovely group of girls.
The we went off to The Scene for the evening - it was lovely to be back there. First time we had heard loud music in a public place since pre-pandemic too so it was almost like the old days, although we did have to stay seated at our table.
This was the lovely group of girls we met.

Evening time we went to Lincoln's best Tapas place, Ole Ole. We were not disappointed - the food was lovely! Far too much for me though, ha ha/
We had to take a walk up Steep Hill to get there but we managed that ok.
Afterwards we went for a little wander to the cathedral. We were lucky enough to catch it at the perfect time of day when the sunlight made it shine golden, absolutely beautiful!
We did go out to The Scene a bit later on too, but it was really quiet in there so we only stayed for one drink and then headed back to the hotel. It was a great day!
Hotel selfie.

Having missed our annual weekend in Newcastle last year we were really looking forward to it this time round, and it didn't disappoint!
Friday night we met up with two friend we hadn't seen in a long while.
Steph came with us to Eazy Street bar first off, then on to The Stand comedy club for a night of stand-up comedy which she really enjoyed - something she had not done before in female mode so it was a new experience for her, and a very enjoyable night for us all. I do love a bit of live comedy.
After the comedy we went on to our favourite Newcastle venue, Rusty's where Fiona came to meet us too. Was a fantastic evening, and so lovely to catch up with two dear friends.
Hotel selfies before heading out.

Another April evening in purple although a different dress. And a bit of experimentation with new footwear as well.
I do quite like how the boots look with the dress. It was my first time trying them on, and obviously they feel a lot different to wearing my usual sandals so they did feel a bit strange to wear. I only had them on to try and to take a couple of pictures, I soon changed back into my usual.

Trying on a couple of choices of dress for my Christmas choir concert at Hull City Hall. I did ask the other members of the choir and we ended up choosing the first of the two dresses for the concert.

After a lovely afternoon out brambling with Gemma and my Mum, Gemma and I had an aamazing night out in Hull!
A delicious meal out at our favourite French restaurant Cognac started the evening off.
Then we decided to try Humber Street - the recently redeveloped area around Hull Marina. We found a rooftop bar there and met some great people - several of whom came to meet us later on at The Star!
It was a properly social night and it felt like the first 'proper' night out since the restrictions were lifted. A fantastic time.

A rare weekend at home - July was a very busy month socially! And my weekend at home was kind of dictated by the fact I was travelling down to London on the Monday for an important consultation.

After a weekend visiting Gemma, she came to visit me.
Friday we went into Hull Old Town to start with, to the Scale and Feather first then the Sailmaker's Arms down High Street.
After that we did pop into the Mission on Posterngate but it was totally dead so we headed to the Star to finish our evening, where we met the lovely Sophie.

Gemma and I both have our birthdays within a few days of each other so we decided to go back to Lincoln for another weekend to celebrate it.
Our last night in Lincoln was really Gemma's birthday night because we were going back home on her birthday the next day. We found a new place with a light=up dance floor - Fever Boutique.
Good tunes and a great night although we didn't meet many people that night. Very enjoyable nonetheless and there's even video evidence of me dancing, ha ha!
Hotel selfies.

More lockdown glamming up in my French Connection black bandage dress. I used to wear this dress all the time, this one and my pink Oasis dress were my go-to outfits.

Christmas outfit night out at the Star, although it was still a week before Christmas at this point! We had a lovely night, met an old friend (Chloey) who we had originally met in Leeds at Pryzm way back in 2016! Gemma got a kiss from her, lol! I also introduced Gemma to Twiggy, the Star's gorgeous new drag queen.

The last of the June photos, and a new (to me) tea dress. I wasn't sure it would suit me when I bought it online, but I'm really really happy with how it looks!

September's LFF weekend was a bit different from usual. The evening was tinged with sadness and loss as we had a memorial for Janie Marie Swann, the amazing organiser of LFF who sadly passed away in July.
But it wa also a hugely social night meeting loads of people, friends old and new.
And I did a thing - I made my karaoke debut! It was nerve-wracking but I loved it! After a bit of a shaky start I loved every second!
Hotel selfies - collaged.

A lovely visit from my great friend Arrabella. We had a brill night out at The Star, met loads of people.
Ready to go out.

I had another visit to Cognac restaurant, this time with my dear friend Andrew who I have known for nearly 30 years. It was his first visit to Cognac and we were a little usure how he would find it as he's a lifetime vegetarian but he loved the food too!
The food and the company were exquisite. A really lovely evening.

I was feeling a bit better on Saturday and we went out to see comedy at the Hifi Club as we always do. It was a really good night - we had a drink in the Marriott beforehand and went to The Bridge afterwards where we met a lovely pair of friends from Birmingham who were in Leeds for the night. :-)

The forst wqeekend of the month is usually a Leeds weekend, but this time we were seeing Joe Lycett live in Hull so Gemma came for a Hull weekend instead.
Ready to go out. I absolutely love Gemma's custom designed dress, she looks amazing!

Gemma came up again for 2 weeks this time - although there was very little chance to get glammed up and go out, what with everywhere closed.
So, we made the best of our one opportunity, got out Christmas glam on and went to do the big Christmas shop at Tesco. We slayed it! :-)
Afterwards we stopped off to see some beautiful Christmas lights down a terrace. Absolutley fantastic - what a community effort!
So funny at the end of this video when we heard someone in one of the houses knocking on the window to us, ha ha!

I got myself a makeup ring light and it is a beast! I have had my eye on this for a while and decided to take the plunge. Well worth it too - it's fantastic for doing makeup and for selfies. Will be especially good in hotel rooms where the lighting is somethimes terrible!
