A plethora of pictures for you from this April evening. This New Look purple dress might be a cheapie but it's a winner - it's rapidly becoming a firm favourite of mine!

While Gemma was here I cooked (well, attempted) our favourite dish from the French restaurant, Porc a la Normande - pork fillet with apples and thyme in a cream, brandy and cider sauce, served with potatoes juliennes.
It came out quite well! I mean, not even close to the level of the restaurant, but it was still blooming lovely! :-)
We also got some of our usual pose pictures - here's a progression through some of them including 'we forgot to put the bins out' and our zombies hallowe'en pose. Be afraid, be very afraid...! ;-)

More lockdown glamming up in my French Connection black bandage dress. I used to wear this dress all the time, this one and my pink Oasis dress were my go-to outfits.

These are the last ones from February, which was an unusually quiet month for me with hardly any pictures.
Of course, that is likely to become the new normal now we're locked down.
Just me and Bagpuss. :-)

Finally made it to the last of the May photos! Only 3 and a bit months late!
I had a lovely day. A bit of glamming up, some sewriously sinful strawberry cheesecake, and a visit from my friend with his gorgeous dog George!

Friendship - you're all that matters to me (Shine).
Without my friends, I am nothing. Without them, all of this is for nothing. I treasure my friendships. And Gemma - well, she is my soulmate.
Gemma made this beautiful video of our weekend and put it to one of my favourite songs - Shine by Take That. I am in floods of happy tears every single time I watch this.

Just a night in at home for the first set.

The last of the June photos, and a new (to me) tea dress. I wasn't sure it would suit me when I bought it online, but I'm really really happy with how it looks!

Little black dress, always a winner!

Another new (to me) dress. Thsi one I bought because another blue lace dress I have that I used to wear no longer fits.
Also a couple of me at my haphazardly lit dressing table, ha ha! It does the job, though!

We had a weekend in Leicester! Many many years since I had been out in Leivester.
No pictures of me out on Saturday night as I wasn't feeling too great, so I came back to the hotel after less than an hour out. This picture taken before we headed out.

A rare night in at home and trying out a couple of new things. Firstly, after a suggestion from a friend, fishnet tights with my dress.
Secondly, and much more daring, a corset and hold-ups!

I love this simple but really pretty purple dress.

My dear friend Bella came over to visit me for the weekend so we had a bit of a glam-up.
This is my favourite purple dress of the moment - I do prefer it slightly to the one from the previous set of photos.

A quiet weekend at home the weekend after Leeds. In fact May was a relatively quiet month for me compared to April.
I had tried this dress on for the first time the week before and was really surprised by how much I liked it, so I decided to wear it again.

First try out of this dark blue Boohoo dress and I like it. Lots of pictures from this set - and a couple of video clips too!

More experimenting with composite pics - a couple of selections from my previous two sets. The software is very good for making square collages I can put up on Instagram (emilyjaynedonoghue if you want to look me up on Insta - but if you do, please read and respect my profile).
I hope you like them/

Into November's photos now, and I was quite pleased with this set. No exciting occasion to dress up for this time though, just a night in at home.
Raw ingredients plus a finished montage of photos. :-)

A rare weekend at home - July was a very busy month socially! And my weekend at home was kind of dictated by the fact I was travelling down to London on the Monday for an important consultation.

As I so often do, I totally forgot to include these ywo video clips in with the last photo set! Sorry - better late than never I guess.

Sometimes things just fall right. This March night was one of those nights where it seemed every picture I took was a good one, one that I was happy with. My best 'set' in a while!
So rather than put all of them up, I've colected them into collages. I hope you like them! There are a few duplicates in there though - apologies for that. :-)

Little did I know at the time that these would be the first of an awful lot of pictures taken at home! The lockdown months...

We went to one of our favourite villages, Bishop Burton, for a little wander around then lunch at the wonderful Altisidora pub.
On the evening we went out for once, to the Star. We don't usually go out at New Year but made a change this time round and of course had a top night. We even managed to get a taxi home quite easily!
Ready to go out for the evening.

Back to a more usual style of photos, of a night in at home.

I was a bit more experimental this night, taking close-up photos from a few different angles.
It can often be a trigger for dysphoria, seeing yourself in profile or otherwise than you are used to. I know many girls who hate how they look in pictures not taken from the most flattering angles. So this was a conscious attempt to get comfortable with how I look. And I was quite surprised - I don't recoil from or hate any of these close-up pictures.
A couple of pics in more classic pose too.

The Sheffield Beer And Cider Festival is something that Gemma always tries to attend and she had hotel bookings for that weekend, but unfortunately as with many things recently, the beer festival was cancelled. BUt we decided to have a Sheffield weekend just the same, and it was a brill time!
Saturday night was a fab night. We went back to Bungalows and Bears again (we like it in there) then found a great venue called the Green Room which we really enjoyed. From there, we went to Dempsey's nightclub in Sheffield's gay quarter and had a brilliant time, meeting people and dancing. Great music and we loved the venue, we'll definitely be heading back there!
After that we walked back to the hotel and took some pics in the libby where the lighting was good. And a couple who came out of the lifts wanted pics with us - the guy looked very much like Professor Brian Cox, ha ha! He loved my crushed velvet jacket.
A compilation of slow-motion walking clips from our weekend in Sheffield. Gemma has really outdone herself with this one - I absolutely adore it! I hope you enjoy it too!

November was lockdown number 2 so there was not much happening at all this month. Dressed nights in were about all I could muster.

We had our annual September visit to Newcastle and had an amazing time once again! I just love that city, the people are so friendly and welcoming.
Oops - I forgot to upload this one when I did the Newcastle set.
Another of Gemma's amazing slow-motion videos of us wallking the hotel corridors.

Another glam night in at home. Well, in the absence of anything else these days, why not?
This dress has rapidly turned into one of my favourites - I love it!
However you are planning to spend it, I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Cleavage! LOL!
I realised it was well over a year since I tried the self-adhesive bras I have that work much like a push-up bra or corset. And in that year, the hormones have quite obviously been working their magic! - what a wonderful discovery! :-)
My time has passed very oddly during my transition. It's like it's passing at two separate but concurrent speeds. I seem to be on never-ending waiting lists and day-to-day not much seems to be happening. But also, when I look back, I have transformed every aspect of my life, and it seems like only yesterday when I first stepped out in public back in 2016! I'm almost fully through my transition now, literally all i am waiting for is the lower surgery although I am considering breast enhancements too. Ideally I'm aiming for like this but without the self-adhesive bra.

Another April evening in purple although a different dress. And a bit of experimentation with new footwear as well.
I do quite like how the boots look with the dress. It was my first time trying them on, and obviously they feel a lot different to wearing my usual sandals so they did feel a bit strange to wear. I only had them on to try and to take a couple of pictures, I soon changed back into my usual.
