Usually, the morning shoot is over once the sun hits the far cliffs. The contrast is so large that even HDR has a hard time coping with the dynamic range. Today was no different. The sun hit the far cliffs on the horizon and even though I was bracketing with +-4 f stops, I was not getting anything that was going to be usuable. I started to pack up while I practiced speaking Canadian to the crazy guy to my right when suddenly this layer of clouds swept over and blocked the sun. We both stopped talking and started shooting, shaking our heads in amazement at our good luck!

There are days made for wander
and laughter and wine
may your dreams take you places
through rivers that wind
If we don't count our blessings
we are wasting our time...
Lyrics from Song for the Journey
The sun's rays were reaching down on this misty spring morning just after sunrise. Our Haven is in God's hands...we are blessed to live in this idyllic place. I stopped on my way down the driveway to shoot this photo of our home.
I took the suggestion to remove the busy foreground. Take a look at the cropped version.
TO THE FIX MY PIC GROUP: Thank you for removing that blasted boat out of the foreground! It was a tough decision, but I chose one of the versions prepared by pippin828.
Wishing everyone a Great Week~
Thank you for viewing and comments~
I really want to Thank God for all his Blessings~

I was blessed yesterday with a surprise visit from one of my oldest friends who I've known most of her life... and she brought me flowers! I am blessed and highly favored indeed.
Did this in a water color which I hadn't done in a long time. I was pleased with the results. I hope you like it, too.

I had been trying to get to Patriarch Grove, at the end of a 12-mile dirt road way up in the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, for several years. Every year, something would happen. Trees would topple. Too much snow. Lightning storm. On this day, I thought my efforts would again be scuttled. A large big rig had overturned in Highway 168. A motorist told me to turn back. I kept going. I pulled up to the accident. A policeman waved me through. Whewww! That was that! This photo was the last photo of the evening. Midway through, a truck pulled up and saw me on the dirt road with my flashlight and pulled up. "You okay?" I said I was. "Okay, just makin' sure. God Bless!" I thought his headlights ruined my photo. Turned out they blessed them. They looked pretty good. I was going to photograph the trees as silhouettes, and, well, he illuminated them for me instead. The Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest is located in the White Mountains by Owens Valley. At over 10,500 ft (3200m) in elevation, the sky is clearer, the stars more visceral, and my smile much larger. The bristlecone pines are some of the oldest living things on the planet, some growing before Buddha or George Burns walked the earth. This time, I did not use the ProtoMachines to light anything, letting the universe do the lighting for the rest.

Taken in Hardiwar india. Hardiwar is one of the foremost religious cities in India. It is situated in the foothills of the Himalaya mountain range. The Ganges flows through the city and every evening there is a religious ceremony on the banks of the Ganges. The picture shows a man being blessed but i love the expression on the face of the woman in the background.

If you live the life you love, you will receive shelter and blessings. Sometimes the great famine of blessings in and around us derives from the fact that we are not living the life we love; rather, we are living the life that is expected of us. We have fallen out of rhythm with the secret signature and light of our own nature. *John O Donohue*
Whenever I feel down, sad, unhappy, hateful against myself e.t.c, I open up this jar in which I’ve put a bunch of notes.
On these notes I’ve written down all my blessings in life.
People, things, surroundings and so on, that I am very happy to have in my life, things that can be easy to forget when your not feeling your best!
This is actually something I would advice you to try aswell!
Write down what you are happy to see everyday, people you love, things you feel lucky to have achieved, things you’re proud of yourself for, what you’re good at, traits/features you like about yourself.. And be selfish when trying to find these things you like about yourself! Nothing is too little or too much.
It’s a great way to remind yourself of all the things you’re thankful for in your life, and remember that you have so much more to be happy about than you think!
It is way better to appreciate what you have, than to be unhappy about what you don’t.💜
At my friends home in Port Townsend, a woman of expansive heart and great compassion.
Made a quick trip up there for a memorial, another wonderful old friend passed away from cancer. Many thoughts and memories rolling around in my head and heart...good ones. I lived near here for about 15 years, 9 of those years with my husband David who also passed away.
THis woman helped me through that time, just as I helped her when her husband passed sever years earlier. Community... that is what I had there. Music Potlucks on THursday at our house, organic farmers surrounding me, playing on the beaches with the kids large and small...
and i left why?
Well, my life fell apart after David died, and then my mom needed me down here. Actually I needed her!
THis is honoring that abiding sense of community...
and
THis is in honor of both DavidReel, and of Niels Holms... Niels passed on recently and the memorial Saturday was a celebration of his life. We had one like that for David back in 1996, with teh same community... celebrations with food, music, dancing, pictures and stories, many many hugs and tears and laughter, lasting for hours as we gathered together in their memory.
We are all a bit older now, but I was overcome by the timelessness of our sharing and honoring.
I miss Port Townsend... maybe someday I shall return.

My Explore set, thanks to all of you!
Source of all blessings, you bless us with moments in which nothing happens---moments of staring into the slowly-burning-down fire, moments in the checkout line or the waiting room. May I not fail to expand into that wide-open expanse of emptiness and pass on this blessing of a wideness more powerful than all the anxiety in the world.

Many times we don’t see all the blessings we have in our lives. While some are obvious, many come to us in disguise. Some may not seem like blessings at first, but in time they reveal themselves. God fills our lives with so many blessings…whether or not we choose to see them is up to us.

Each year on a Sunday in mid August, crowds come to Claddagh pier in Galway for the age old ceremonial blessing of Galway bay and its fishermen.
There are no mistakes, no coincidences. All events are blessings given to us to learn from.

‘Blessed art thou, O Christmas Christ, that thy cradle was so low that shepherds, poorest and simplest of earthly folk, could yet kneel beside it and look level-eyed into the face of God.’
Every blessing to all on Flickr this Christmas! And in the words of Howard Thurman, let the work of Christmas begin!
When the song of the angels is stilled,
when the star in the sky is gone,
when the kings and princes are home,
when the shepherds are back with their flocks,
the work of Christmas begins:
to find the lost,
to heal the broken,
to feed the hungry,
to release the prisoner,
to rebuild the nations,
to bring peace among the people,
to make music in the heart.

I am trying really hard to count my blessings these days. I have had a challenging job change due to a merger and my whole life has been turned upside down. I will keep on plugging, though
The little angel that I have bought ( for very little money ) at the market yesterday.
I hope He brings blessings for all of us
