The Blessing of the Animals service recognizes that the animals with whom
we share this planet are important to us, to God, and we are blessed by their
presence in our lives.
This photo was taken in the morning on Feb 6th of 2011.
Chinese New Year is one of the most celebrated Chinese festivals among Chinese community worldwide. During the weekend right after the Chinese New Year there was always a Lion Dance troop will be coming to different community in Singapore to perform the lion dance to certain communities.
One fascinating thing they do every year here in Singapore, is that they will use the orange slides to make up a Chinese character of phrase which symbolizing the best wishes or good luck or blessing for the new year.
The Chinese character was presented here is pronounced "Fa" which means prosperity in English and wishing people have a good fortune in the new coming year.

May the Lord show you the greatness of his goodness, that you overflow with thanks every day. May the Lord bless you abundantly with rest for the heart, power for virtue, wisdom for life, and patience in suffering. May the Lord bless you with joyful hope, and one day with the inexpressible joys of eternal life.

Australia has been in drought for some time with severe water restrictions in place. While a great portion of Australia is now under water due to the floods, the rain has meant that my kids can enjoy playing with a hose or sprinkler and have the kind of fun we all used to have as children.
So to me, water after a LONG dry spell and the chance for my children to enjoy spraying themselves in the face with a hose is a blessing indeed.

When he was 14, Blessing Makwera put an unexploded land mine detonator in his mouth. The device exploded, obliterating most of his jawbone, teeth and tongue. Sharp Memorial Hospital and Operation of Hope joined the Zimbabwe boy on an incredible journey toward recovery.
