Many of the participants and guests at an ordination will request the newly ordained priest to give his or her blessing. Here, Gaudy blesses her boss!

A friend of mine is having a blessingway. I have never made beads before, and at first thought I should borrow some clay from my sister... In the end, though, I chose to work with what I have. Pyrography on wooden beads.
The beads read: "Calm" "Gentle Strength" "Breathe" and "Life"
I snagged this picture from *red's (Tracie's) camera off of facebook... I just wanted a picture of Abbie and I, and I haven't taken any. I am so blessed by the West family, it is unbelievable how they have taken me in, and made me almost one of their own. They are now my second family and I cherish the relationship I have with them. For example, *red purchased this pro account for me because she wanted to encourage my creative side :) It feels wrong even being paid for tutoring Abbie a couple hours a week. She is like my other littler sister. The West family is a blessing that I cannot put into words.

This is a Tibetan blessing where the priest sprinkles water on the people. Reminded me of the way Presbyterians do baptism. Though I do not know if the Tibetan ritual has to do with purification. But if I had to take an educated guess, that would be my first choice. This is courtesy of the "no look" photography technique that I am working on. Pics turn out more candid this way. :) This was taken at the Barkhor in Lhasa, Tibet.

The blessing of the fishing fleet at Ulladulla, ignored by a pelican. The priests are in the little launch to the left of the fishing fleet.
I had gone into my "zone" and was passionately working on this painting, when the power went out. My studio is an awesome place to be, until the air conditioning stops. Then it becomes an oppressive, heat filled room, where I can barely think. Forced to stop, I decided to start again fresh in the morning. When I came back into the studio the following morning and looked at the painting on my easel, I realized in amazement that all that was needed was one last stroke to finish. The power outage was indeed a "Blessing" in disguise!

Sunday was the first day of autumn...75 degrees...slight breeze...no clouds. I thought it an appropriate time to pick a half bushel of Golden Delicious apples. I tugged gently on the apples and took only those that willingly fell into my hand. Before my bag was full, I had eaten two. God's blessings are limitless.
