A birthday tribute to A...
A new Maisto Fresh Metal casting which has garnered a lot of reluctant respect from many collectors who are actually impressed not only by its subject choice but in the way its been executed.
The semi iconic K5 Blazer has been modelled particularly well here for a resolutely budget diecast. As sharp and as well proportioned as anything made by Matchbox it has a pleasing stance as well as a good quota of chrome and body detailing.
Part of a five vehicle set found recently at TK Maxx.

State of the art law enforcement equipment - from the late 1980's.
Despite their age, the Meadowhill County Sheriff's Department keep these old rugged SUV's well maintained, and their powerful V8s and high ground clearance allow them to go just about anywhere - road or no road.
This wasn't really meant to be a Chevy Blazer at first, but as building progressed it started to look a bit too much like one to be anything else. I'm quite happy with it though.

The Chevrolet Blazer (4WD model T-10) and its rebadged variant, the GMC S-15 Jimmy (4WD model T-15), are compact/mid-size SUVs manufactured and marketed by Chevrolet and GMC from 1982 to 2005 across two generations.
The S-10 Blazer and S-15 Jimmy were based on the Chevrolet S-10 and GMC S-15 pickup trucks and were manufactured in Pontiac, Michigan; Linden, New Jersey; Moraine, Ohio; Shreveport, Louisiana; Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; Oshawa, Ontario, Canada; and São Paulo, Brazil.
In the United States, retail sales of two-door Blazer models ended in 2004; all other models were sold until April 20, 2005. In the Canadian market, four-door models of the Blazer and Jimmy were sold until the 2004 model year and until the 2005 model year for the two-door models of both.

Finding the Matchbox Ranger Rescue five vehicle set recently was met with a bit of happiness and bewilderment in equal measure. Its a set Ive never managed to find before so was of course very pleased to see some hanging on the pegs but it also highlights the odd distribution of MBX at ASDA. The singles are still resolutely stuck at 2018 Case M yet they have also managed to start stocking the first sets of 2019 making them totally up to date in that respect. This particular five vehicle assortment was first launched back in December 2017 and yet has taken over a year to get here or at least in my neck of the woods which may not bode too well for Matchbox and ASDA in 2019!
The set itself should be a big disappointment as it only contains one truly licensed product but a combination of using the now legendary National Parks livery and using mainly decent generics ensures it was worth coming home with me.
This Chevrolet Blazer 4x4 is of course the licensed casting and is a very old model reissued fairly recently. Cost cutting has of course meant its now stuck with that rather naff looking clear roof bar light which is now part of the glazing but otherwise its still the chunky and robust looking model it always was.

The S10 Blazer began for Model Year 1983, only as a 2-door model. 4-Door versions didn't appear until 1990 as 1991 models which may be somewhat surprising compared to the current SUV market.
This one is an obvious survivor.
Ultimate in business casual
Business casual is the most confusing dress code ever. But I will tolerate the confusion for the freedom.
This is my blazer over pajamas look. Quite literally. I slept in the waffle top, but decided it looked good with the silk joggers and just added a blazer.
