This was standing on the street corner in Midtown Sacramento with a fat snake over his shoulders. I asked he and his friends, obviously high on something, if I could take a picture. He said yes. While I was trying to focus on the snakes head, it bit him in the arm and blood was streaming down to the sidewalk. So, it was hard to focus with all the biting and blood, but it would have been cool if it would have turned out.

Mating biting midges on my hand - they hopped on when I tried to stabilise the leaf they were on

Scary pitbull teeth!

I believe this insect which is sticking its proboscis into my skin is a Black Fly (Simuliidae)

I saw it growing by the side of the road on my biking tour in Harads. I have never seen it wild before.
