2018-08-13 - Monday:

And cloudy. But still a good day for the beach.

Bit of a nothing picture in either B & W or colour, so I decided to have both and make it slightly more interesting.

Bottom covers off. Look at bit like clocks.

The TX at the top has a slow shutter, only works to 1/30th or so; not sure if it is missing a second spring. Some of the gears are plastic in the TX which was more of a consumer level.

The FTbN on the button has a broken shutter. At least one curtain seems completely detached and I don't think it is something I can fix myself. It broke 10 years ago and I have another working body. I've been keeping this one around for parts but someone recently asked me for pictures to help diagnose their FTb and that had me wondering if I could fix mine...

Bit of a kitchen theme here

Another large spider waiting in the cracks of the bricks for an unsuspecting moth attracted to light. I have no idea what this is, so ID help would be appreciated.

Bit of a stretch to get everyone in.

Bits of track from the incomplete Pleasanton end of the Niles Canyon Railway.

A late night bug bit me. I needed to edit a flower photo. These are in Mom's flower beds, in early April.

I did all of my own color correction, and then decided to see if I could find a vintage color that didn't add a haze to the photo, so many actions seem to do that. I'm not sure this is what I had in mind, but once I found it, I liked it, and stopped.

The action was the Georgia action from Everyday Actions (which no longer seems to be one of the free actions).

IdemoLab, DELTA joined forces with KEA's Jewellery Design program and Wearable Technologies in collaboration to create 'Meaningful Jewellery' for their wearable technology project, and to host the Wearable Tech Global Picnic.

At the event "Jewellery of Tomorrow", KEA students from all semesters exhibited their projects (Meaningful Jewellery, Mixed Media, and Portfolio). The Meaningful Jewellery Devices class was part of a collaboration between Vanessa Julia Carpenter of IdemoLab, DELTA and Petra Ahde-Deal of KEA. Vanessa is exploring the Design of Meaningful Smart Devices and introduced to the class how to work with hardware and think about creating non-screen, tangible, embedded interactive devices which create value and are meaningful in people's lives.

In the coming decade, wearable technology will touch nearly every aspect of our lives. The jewellery students from KEA shared their 8-week journey in creating meaningful jewellery devices and their functional prototypes. Understanding the functionalities of different sensors and using the knowledge of design thinking and user experience, the functional jewellery prototypes are the nexus of design, innovation, imagination and function.

As if a visiting cruise liner, a couple of weddings, a funfair and the Burryman wasn't enough for one day, this van crashed just up from the High Street. No-one was hurt.
