I have hesitated to post any of this type of photograph that I took while in Vietnam last year, but this one cried out to be shown. Sad to say, it's a typical image of a child that was born with birth defects from contact with the remnants of Agent Orange. Dioxin is in the water, it's in the soil, it will be there for a very long time.
Not only are our Veterans of Vietnam still battling the ravages of this curse, the children of those that call Vietnam 'home' are too. They had no dealings with the conflict. They were not even born then. They are the ones we try to forget about.
I must say that it reminds me of the scene in "A CHRISTMAS CAROL", with George C. Scott. Father Christmas, opens his robe to show two small children that are starving and destitute.
May we all remember those that are less fortunate than us.

I realize it's been ages now since I threw up any new pictures. No explanation for that really.
Anyhow here is a picture of one of our three cats, that I dont believe have been featured in my stream before. Her name is Bianca, and she is a flat-nosed(birthdefect) Siamese, although in my personal opinion the flat nose works in her favour!

This is an inverted print of the solarized doll's head (you can see its orientation is mirrored). This was achieved by laying the solarized print on top of a piece of photo paper and exposing it almost as if to make a contact sheet.

Looking down three stories to the rear delivery docks of the Fairchild plant. This was one of the most dangerous places in the abandoned plant. Nothing was stopping me from falling straight down to my death! The view directly behind me shows that there were holes in the roof, many of which would let you fall a couple stories into pitch black parts of the plant.

A solarized version of the doll head photo. For those who don't know, solarization is achieved by letting the print develop somewhat, taking it out of the developer and exposing it to light then letting it develop until you see fit. I used to solarize lots of prints.
