Piping Plover has a Conservation Status under the IUCN of Near Threatened www.iucnredlist.org/species/22693811/182083944
We were privileged to see this Piping Plover pair, and this image of the two together shows the slight difference in appearance between the sexes. The male (on the left) shows a darker and larger line on the crown, and a slightly more pronounced breastband. These birds were at Stoney Island Beach on Cape Sable Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.
We took Jasper on a bird photography / hiking excursion to southern Arizona at the end of last week. He does pretty well. He's always been a bird watcher, not a bird chaser. Rabbits on the other hand...
