Olive Thrush (Turdus olivaceus) - Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa.

 

The gardens offer some excellent and safe birdwatching opportunities. We stayed in an excellent bed and breakfast called Klein Bosheuwel Guest House just outside Gate 3 (Rycroft Gate) and I would walk each day in the gardens before breakfast. The area at the top of the gardens was also quieter at that time of the morning.

Spectacled Barwing

 

The spectacled barwing (Actinodura ramsayi) is a species of bird in the family Leiothrichidae.

 

It is found in China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam.

 

Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
