I believe this building dates back to the 1920’s, and was originally home to Vallejo’s First Presbyterian Church. When that congregation moved to a larger building in 1952 it was purchased by the Vallejo Bible Church.

To those who uploaded other leather bible macros remember that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. :)
This LEGO creation shows the Bible story in Matthew 14:22-33:
Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.
But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
“Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

Inspirational verse:
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
-Hebrews 4:12 (KJV)

Bibles and lube in the Holder House near Santa Fe, Florida... I hope you can appreciate the level of restraint it takes to not make a tasteless joke here.
This is Holly, our graphics expert for the BYU ECE Department. She is sitting on the couch in our department office in a very cozy pose. She is reading the Christmas story in the Bible with a happy smile on her face.

I bought a new Study Bible last year in February. I read a chapter every morning and a chapter every night before bed. It’s starting to fall apart. Signs of good use, I guess. I hope it lasts me another year if not I will have to get a new one. I also hope that everyone has a great day tomorrow.
The book of life, a sword, the food that keep us going. One of the many blessings God gave us for our daily walk and journey to live more for Him.

So this might be one of the coolest trios EVER, unfortunately there are no reference pictures for what they look like since they lived about 4,000 years ago. So why make them? I feel like real life legends need to be made. And they are legends for sure, standing up for what they believed in, being thrown in a furnace, and walking out unharmed by the grace of God! If that’s not cool, I don’t know what is. I also tried to make a furnace set but it didn’t look good.
Huge thanks to X for doing this project with me. I hope you enjoy
Photo. He seems quite taken with this Bible and spent many hours trying to figure out what it was about. Could have been a hint???

This is a part of a series of 33 scenes from the Book of Exodus built of LEGO bricks.
God gave the Israelites guidelines on how to worship Him and how the priestly garments should look. Aaron became the first High Priest of Israel.
Bezalel made the Ark of the Covenant. He made it of acacia wood and overlaid it with pure gold. He made two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover. He made one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; at the two ends he made them of one piece with the cover. The cherubim had their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim faced each other, looking toward the cover.
God told the Israelites how to construct the Tabernacle. The Ark of the Covenant was placed in the most holy area of the Tabernacle.
The Book of Exodus ends with the Tabernacle being dedicated and God taking up residence in the Tabernacle.
Many people read the bible as it offers them a sense of protection. In this case there appears to be a few extra layers.
November 22, 2020 - A macro of one of my Bibles. There is a group on Flickr that offers a weekly photo challenge, which this week's theme is believe. One of the first things I thought of was Acts 16:31 which says "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." I ran the idea by my wife and she too thought it fit the theme #Believe #FlickrFriday

The Gutenberg Bible was the first major book printed using mass-produced movable metal type in Europe. It marked the start of the "Gutenberg Revolution" and the age of the printed book in the West. Widely praised for its high aesthetic and artistic qualities, the book has an iconic status. Written in Latin, the Gutenberg Bible is an edition of the Vulgate, printed by Johannes Gutenberg, in Mainz, in present-day Germany, in the 1450s. Since its publication, 49 copies have survived, and they are considered to be among the most valuable books in the world.

Printed in 1731, this bible belonged to my ancestor Edwin Clothier, who recorded the birth of his first son, William on April 5 1844 at Woolston, North Cadbury Somerset, England. At the very bottom shows a price of 9 shillings, unbound, not sure the meaning of this, since this is a bound book.
Also included are the 'Book of Common Prayer, The administration of Sacraments and other Rites and Ceremonies, according to the Church of England'

The Bible (Douay-Rheims) was a Christmas gift from my parents in 1982 (so signed). It's the Catholic equivalent of the King James Bible, I suppose.
The New Testament was published in 1582 and the Old Testament in 1610 - beating the King James Bible by a year. It has all those lovely Thee's and Thy's that make a Bible sound like a Bible - at least IMHO.
The Rosary would date from my First Communion, somewhere in the mid-1970's, and was blessed by our parish priest at that time, although it's quite possible it's a few years older than that, purchased in Italy, and my parents held off giving it to me until I was old enough.
