Ironman Frankfurt. 3.8 km swimming, 180km cycling and 43.195 km running. The picture was taken when both swimming and cycling were done. just another 100 meters to take the runningshoes for the marathon.
I was lucky getting there behind and in between the stage of Depeche Reload´s concert performing in Oberursel. Great music and an unforgettable concert! Tribute to DEPECHE MODE !

On the way to "Geiseljoch" which is situated between Karwendelkette in the north and the Tuxer glacier area in the south.

Alpencross 2003
This is one of my first efforts at high speed photogrphy. It was using a shutter speed of 1/1600 in very bright sunlight. Used the camera in burst shot mode to capture 4 images in quick sucession and picked the bestone. Anyone got tips on how to improve?
Trekking in Ladakh/India, Himalaya. What you see in the left of the picture, that seems to be a cloud far beyond is the glacier of Laserma la pass (5400 ü. NN/18000 feet) we had had to pass that day.

As the Royal Military Academy is in nearby Sandhurst, we often get coverage of events and issues relating to the RMA and the Army. In this case, it's about the recent campaign to allow Gurkhas to settle in the UK

The eagle owl was appointed the bird of the year 2005. At present the populations of the bird are again sinking. Approx.. 1000 pairs of eagle owls live in Germany in 2005.
Der Uhu wurde zum Vogel des Jahres 2005 ernannt. Derzeit sind die Populationen des in den 50er Jahren fast schon ausgerotteten Vogels wieder am sinken, nachdem es bis in die 90er Jahre bergauf ging.

The picture was taken when almost half of the whole pensum was done at the so called "Heartbreak-Hill" near Bad Vilbel.
Ganz junge Eule, 4 Wochen altes "Baby". Pretty young Owl, just about 4 weeks old. - Hier nochmal in voller Körpergröße !
After doing light painting for hours and no success, i decided to throw my gas mask on and rub the LED lights on my face causing the illuminated light to reflect off the mask and be captured as so, it took a long time to get right but once i got it i put the lights down turned the camera off and went to bed, crazy thing is though is that in the dream that i had that night i dreamed that the light in the picture wore off and the picture was ruined :( good thing that was a dream lol :D

Festa em Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro, e fui tirar uma foto dos malabares iluminados. total escuridão, coloco 2 segundos de exposição, porém durante a foto outra pessoa dispara um flash. Aconteceu este efeito maravilhoso!

This warmed my heart......., but I think they have this all wrong...... LOL
Having reached the highest point of "Geiseljoch" we were surprised seeing snow though it was really a hot summer´s day. The mountains in front belong to the Tuxer glacier area.
Nachdem wir das Geiseljoch erreichten staunten wir nicht schlecht dass es dort oben noch Schneefelder gab. Im Hintergrund die Region um den Tuxer Gletscher.

I was lucky to stay there for a couple of days and get to know some of the family life in small villages in the Himalayan mountains, about 4000 m above sealevel. Ladakh/Norhern India.
Preparing dinner - pasta made of barley, water and salt, stuffed with leaves of cabbage, self made yoghurt. and butter.
Wanderung im Valle Maira/IPiemont/Italien. Nachdem wir das Etappenziel erreicht hatten und auf ca. 2500 m ü.NN eine Pause einlegten, trauten wir unseren Augen nicht, zwei Steinböcke bemerkten uns lange Zeit nicht, so konnten wir sie eine Zeitlang beobachten. Trekking in Piemont. Those two guys didn´t realize that we were watching them for several minutes.
View On Black Have you ever seen a cat, loving the rain? I met this one on a trekking tour in Madeira, where rainy wheather isn´t really seldom. Living at an altitude of approx. 1800 m/NN she might be used to having beautiful panoramas and also walking through clouds.
