The road to the Troll Wall includes this descent through 19 hairpin bends - definitely not recommended for those of a nervous disposition!

I love roads so much. The bends and curves gracefully wind around like the curvature of figure. I think also because it is the idea of a journey, a road, an experience. I hate staying stagnant or still. When I've stayed till too in one place (physically or metaphorically speaking) I've got together going and find the road. The thought of being stuck somewhere not moving forward in the grand spectrum of life scares me. Or god forbid - left behind. I guess l liken most of life to a road. The ultimate road trip if you will. One thing about the grand road trip of life is all the people you travel with. Sometimes you don't know if you'll see them again. maybe its a chance encounter, maybe a shaping experience that you will mentally call upon many times in the future, or maybe they will travel with you for a long distance of your journey... Who knows...I'm just glad we don't drive that long beautiful road alone. And if we do find ourselves alone, it's just a matter of waiting for the right traveler to cross paths. Pretty much like the same as waiting for the right road for the right picture...

River bends always make for nice foregrounds, and this one at the Swiss-French border is no exception. I visited the place in November with benjaminbarakat

Shooting this image was a rather scary endeavor. As you can see, the hills around the bend are heavily forested. The only spot with an unobstructed view is a ledge with an area of a few square meters on top of a towering cliff. Reaching the ledge involves clambering down a slippery slope, which I found pretty creepy by itself.

The reward for the scary scrambling was this beautiful view. The stars reflected in the calm water of the river reservoir and some thin fog banks lingered along the hill on the opposite shore.
