Lovely display of crocuses, but what drew me here was the benchmark on the lefthandside.

Luckily the e/b was short and fast so I had time to dive into the neighboring park and set up this shot of the westbound

I ran across this illustration in the "Castle" at the top of Whiteface mountain in the Adirondacks. Googling led me to the source at docs.lib.noaa.gov/rescue/cgs_specpubs/QB275U35no2261941.pdf. Knowing these variations should make it more interesting when found on peaks.

I stumbled upon this 3rd Benchmark on Schonchin Butte in Lava Beds NM, Siskiyou Co. CA June 22, 2018. Notice the spelling of Schonchin Butte has changed since this 1948 2nd edition of the Benchmark. This is about 30' NW of the first 1948 Bench Marker. Photographed in Lava Beds NM in Siskiyou Co. CA June 22, 2018.

There is also a Flush Bracket on the church on the opposite corner.
