This is the Benchmark found near the Black River footbridge in Gogebic County, Michigan.
I did not geo-tag this--just stumbled across it in my travels.

The first geodetic survey marker/benchmark of this trip was found at an REI store in Lynnwood, WA (at a shopping mall). I did a little googling and found a story about the woman, Betty Green Risser, who makes these special "imposter" marks for REI as well as replicas of the real thing and, in the case of the South Pole (which is changes each year) sometimes even designs the real thing itself!
"When she read in the paper that a huge REI flagship store was having a grand opening that morning in the Twin Cities, she got dressed, went down to the store, and introduced herself to the company’s president. She now does permanent markers for every new REI store that opens, and just finished making 11,000 pewter pins for employees to commemorate the company’s 50th anniversary."
