My favourite sea bird, I could photograph them all day. Hang on, thats exactly what I did !!
Many thanks for the faves and the comments, they are all very much appreciated.
At this time of the year I would normally head off to Bempton Cliffs to check in on the gannet colony. The lockdown restrictions we face clearly prohibit this so I will have to make do with a delve into the archive.

Gannets captured on Bempton Cliffs, East Yorkshire, probably rekindling their bond of friendship and loyalty to one another after months apart.
The gannets are large white birds with yellowish heads; black-tipped wings; and long bills. Northern gannets are the largest seabirds in the North Atlantic, having a wingspan of up to 2 metres (6.6 ft).
A visit to Bempton Cliffs RSPB site in East Yorkshire has been on my wish list for some time and last week I made the effort. The weather was challenging, gale force winds, poor light and on my last day sea fog which made photography very difficult. With a few tweaks in Lightroom this is the finished image. What did surprise me was the fact that not many Puffins were evident at this location. I count myself fortunate to have got this shot, bearing in mind the weather conditions on the day.
