Under Construction Series

In camera multiple exposure.

Walking around our once peaceful and friendly small downtown in White Rock has become a discordant and very noisy urban jungle of high rises in various stages of construction.

Its a collision of noises, smells, physical obstructions and visual distractions.

This was taken from a bus window on the way into the City of Vancouver. The homes displayed here as we were on the Lions Gate Bridge showing the West Vancouver areas. It it a very beautiful area of BC to live in.

It was cold with high windsand the sea walk as well as the benches were covered with snow. The sun was shining and lit up the water.

Over the holidays my family and I spent precious time together, away from the busy-ness of schedules and deadlines. We laughed and hiked and cooked and ate and played with the dog. We shared stories and gifts. It was a time to plug in to our connectedness, to nurture our affinity, and to refresh our united souls. The memories will be cherished forever. My heart is full.

12/12 'Tis the season to be joyful

~ last of the series of this park - this is the front view of the main waterfall, mist is abundant with the heavy water flow, so necessitated me keeping up with clearing the lens - another gorgeous gem tucked away in an Island park ~

The remnants of an ‘ atmospheric river’ show off Autumns’ colours during a break in the rain

Thoroughly enjoyed the Northern Light Show last night.. the added bonus was listening to the Orcas blowing in the ocean as the Lights danced above ..truly a West Coast Experience!!!

Taken in the final light of an amazing Sept sunset on the last night of clear skies before the smoke moved in. This heron was at this spot in the day as well, but was much more photogenic in the evening. Using the bull kelp as its hunting grounds, it was 'hopping' from area to area following the fish this evening.

A Grizzly cub sticks out his tongue at photographers

A place where nature creates its own landscape.

The clouds were moving in, but allowed the warm autumn sunrays to pass through peridodically adding a wonderful warm glow to the landscape. By the next morning the clouds had fully engulfed the sky and a light drizzle ensued for for the remaining two days we enjoyed here.

The Matier glacier over looking Upper Joffre Lake

The beautiful almost Harverst Moon peeking above the clouds from my neighbourhood in New Westminster near Vancouver, BC, Canada.

It's been awhile again since I have been keeping busy and haven't had too much inspiration for photos, but I never miss a chance to capture the beautiful moon if it arises.

About this photo: I knew that the moon was going to rise around 7pm local time, so while we were out walking our dogs I figured I would drag my camera around. I was hoping to catch a glimpse of the almost full Harvest Moon rising near Mount Baker. I wasn't just if it was going to happen as there were some clouds behind Mount Baker.

To my delight I noticed the moon rising from behind the clouds and was so happy that Mount Baker was still lit up by the last rays of the sun as well. I waited until the moon was just above the clouds to capture this photo. I was very happy I dragged my camera along for a few photos of this.

I hope you like it?

Some information on New Westminster: New Westminster is a city that belongs to the Greater Vancouver area. New Westminster is located about 20 minutes from downtown Vancouver along the Fraser River. This beautiful city is also called "The Royal City". The city also reminds people of San Francisco, especially because of the steep hills in town. So be prepared for those hills!

New Westminster was founded by the Royal Engineers under the command of Colonel Richard Clement Moody, and named by Queen Victoria after her favourite neighbourhood in London, Westminster. It is also the oldest city in western Canada and it was the capital of British Columbia between 1858 and 1866.

Located right in the middle of the Greater Vancouver network today, New Westminster is a charming mix of old and new, with a picturesque waterfront and fabulous Victorian architecture. It's a vibrant and progressive city with a community rich in tradition and respect for its heritage.

Come and visit this beautiful city when you are in Vancouver and find out for yourself how charming this city is. There are many things to see and to visit in New Westminster such as: New Westminster Museum and Archives, Irving House, the Samson V Paddle Wheeler, New Westminster Quay Public Market, the Antique Alley, Queen's Park, the 7-11 cycling Trail and much more.

This shot was inspired by that famous cherry blossom shot in Tokyo Skytree. I tried few spots at the Waterfront Station to get an angle similar to the photo I saw.

Have a wonderful week! :)

Spent a fabulous day wandering the beaches of the west coast in the warmth of the sun and then came back to the campsite to see this!

Wilderness -Buntzen Lake

Climbing in under the rock ledge to get this angle was interesting - had water drops dripping down my neck and when I looked up there was greenery with who knows what living in it! Came home with no extra critters on me, always a good thing :)
